Happy May Day! Here in the blogging universe, it’s also Mini-DIY-Calendar-Blog-Tour-Day! Take a peek:
I was terribly disappointed to see By the Seashore on the list of stamps which will retire June 3, 2015. The images are beautifully drawn and I’ve used them for cards, packaging, calendars, tags – just about anything.
I’ve just about convinced myself to purchase it as a wood mount stamp – I bought it in clear, and I will absolutely add it to my permanent archive.
I have a confession: I pulled one other thing out of the archive. I bought <many> bottles of Champagne Mist Glimmer paint before it retired a couple of years ago. I have tried to refrain from sharing those projects, but it’s irresistible here. I’m sorry if you don’t have any.
Please take a moment to see what Cheryl and Crystal have done for the first of May! And Happy May Day!
I’m slightly obsessed with Sheltering Tree:
This idea came from Alison Stachera – you can see her card HERE. Her concept was to show the transition from winter to spring. On Maui, that takes a different form, so I chose to soften the colors. (I’m not going to talk about how much I will miss the 2013-2015 In Color collection since it is largely unavailable, but still.)
Will you cross your fingers with me and hope that Sheltering Tree makes it into the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog? I am not finished with this stamp set.
Allison’s card was also constructed differently – I chose to allow the heart to be open to the inside. The two trees are aligned with the Stamp-a-ma-jig, an essential tool for lining up images. I don’t often use it, but when I do, nothing else will serve the purpose.
If you’re not a gambler, then I would hustle on over to the Online Store and order this stamp set now. Because if it DOESN’T make it into the next catalog, you could be very sad to have missed it.
This card also uses the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (still available) and the Hearts Framelits (retired and sold out).
Best deal ever – the FRY BOX!! Get yours at this great price!!
If you’re ordering, be sure to check the Clearance Rack – there is new merchandise there. And of course the Retiring List is full of deals that are disappearing quickly. Shop HERE!
Some friends came over a couple of weeks ago. We usually meet once a month, and they asked a while ago if I would show them how to make a card. Of course I would:
It’s a very simple design – these were all Stampin’ Newbies – but they had a good time. I loved the end result, as every card was a little (or a lot!) different!
We stamped the inside and the envelope too. That’s one of those small things that has a big WOW factor, at least in my book. I also add a Whisper White (or Very Vanilla) liner to the inside of every card made with colored card stock. It creates a finished look and I like the attention to detail.
Enjoy – and shop now for your best selection of retiring products at Anne’s Online Store.

The long wait is finally over, and Stampin’ Up! is offering a special promotion to thank you for your patience:
Just want the thinlets? They’re 15% off.
Were you waiting for the bundle? While supplies last, you can choose from a selection of Sale-a-bration items when you order the bundle (which is already discounted at 15%).
I’ve been waiting to share this card with you – it seemed really mean when the thinlets weren’t available. I’ve cut the butterfly from Shimmer White paper, then used the negative image left behind to trace the outline onto a piece of vellum. I trimmed out the vellum (doesn’t have to be pretty) and adhered it to the butterfly with a few drops of Tombo (the Wonder Adhesive). The Butterfly Basics stamp set has such beautiful, romantic images that it’s easy to create a pretty backdrop.
Don’t wait – this special offer from Stampin’ Up! is only available through April 30th. Order HERE and bring a little Springtime into your stamp room!

Welcome to the April edition of the RemARKable blog tour. This month we’re featuring things that move and moving on.
I’m very fond of the Life’s Adventure Host Rewards stamp set, and this bicycle is my favorite image in the set. I love the retro feel, especially the flag off the back.
Every time I pull out my embossing powder I wonder why I don’t use it more often. It’s such a quick technique with such a big WOW factor.
Head over to visit the new kid on the RemARKable tour – Heather Mathiesen! Welcome Heather – we can’t wait to see your projects!
