GLOW OF HARVEST PRODUCT OF THE MONTH: AN OPEN GIFT ENVELOPE

There’s a gorgeous gift envelope in the September – December catalog (page 19!) and a friend asked me how to replicate it. Turns out it’s really easy, and I set out to create a few. Here’s the autumn version using the Glow of Harvest Product of the Month:

Since I wanted to make my envelope with DSP, I used an envelope punch board. If you choose to use an existing envelope, many of our printed envelopes will give you great results. The belly band is wrapped very tightly around the envelope and secured with Tear n Tape since it doesn’t need to slide off.

I die cut multiple leaves and acorns and played with them until I was happy with their position. The new Poetic Petals stamps have fabulous sentiments, and I can see this one being a Go-To stamp set that lives in my permanent collection (which is beginning to outgrow it’s space, auwe!)

A quick note: there’s no gray granite in the DSP, but as I rummaged through my ribbon drawer this retired ribbon caught my eye. It works well with the metallics and is a great example of not being too focused on exact matches.

An open envelope is a great way to present a simple gift. The catalog shows cookies (no problem with that!) but any small gift will work. Have some fun with it!

PAINTED PUMPKINS: I HOPE YOUR DAY IS FABULOUS

Don’t we all need a fabulous day every now and then? And speaking of fabulous, how gorgeous are these pumpkins??? I have had so much fun playing with color combinations and the Painted Pumpkins masks.

The background on the Nested Essentials Dies panel is from Fern and Flora, and I keep reaching for it. F&F is a great set, and this textured image is a double bonus.

I’m hooked playing with color combos for these pumpkins. If you have a suggestion for a combo I would love to hear it! I’m always looking for new ideas 😉

The Glow of Harvest Specialty DSP has a gorgeous shimmer that doesn’t show up in the photo – please use your imagination!

Our new Softly Textured 3D Embossing folder reminds me of some past (and sadly retired) favorite folders. It has an all-over softening effect on the card stock, and the compressed pattern makes it more textural than featured. It’s perfect for a primary layer.

We don’t see a lot of fall colors here on Maui. This paper is full of them and makes a beautiful autumnal card. Shop for supplies at the Online Store.

WHO’S A PIGLET FAN??

Any Piglet fans out there? Our Silly Old Bear DSP has images of all the residents of the Hundred Acre Wood, and the Sweet Old Friends stamps include their images as well. You can choose to die cut an image that’s already colored, or stamp one to color yourself. We have options!

I’ve stamped and colored Piglet in the past, but I love the coloring on the DSP. And I was pretty pleased to realize that the Rounded Rectangle Punch was the perfect size for a little window!

If you look closely, you’ll notice that the DSP and the Embossing Folder are both images of the Hundred Acre Wood. If you’re a long-time World of Pooh fan, I know you’ll appreciate that! It’s all in the Online Store.

WHITE FERN AND FLORA WITH BARELY BLUSH

I have had such a great time creating with the Fern and Flora suite! I’ve often paired it with the Moonlit Flora DSP, but today I’m working on something completely different. This is a mostly white card, with a little bit of Barely Blush and some Crumb Cake accents.

Every now and then, an accident leads to an opportunity. I designed this card with Crumb Cake ferns, but when I prepared for a group crafting event, I cut them in white. As it turned out, this gave us options – leave them white, or dust them with Crumb Cake ink.

Here are all three versions – which one do you like the best?

GARDEN GATHERINGS WITH A WINDOW

I held off getting Garden Gatherings. It’s a game I play with myself. But I’m much smarter than that other girl, and I almost always win the game 😁

Stamp the stems twice. In one case, add the flowers and die cut. In the second, stamp the vase over the stems and die cut the vase. Glue the two together to get stems in the water.

The Water and Dotted lines masks are a great way to add the texture of a background stamp. It’s easy to control the intensity of the color by the amount of ink and brushing on your Blending Brush. The masks are 12×12 so there are lots of options – check them out in the Online Store!

GARDEN GATHERINGS IN MISTY MOONLIGHT

We’ve had vases before, and you might have a set in your stash. I hope you have a set with dies, because they make this project so easy! I think Garden Gatherings vases look great in sets of three.

Die cutting or punching shapes out of DSP is one of my favorite crafty tricks. I’d stamped these on the other side and die cut them, but when I turned them over I loved the “B-side” better. (Drop a comment if you remember the “B-side”!!) By the way, Kintsugi Inspirations DSP is still available!

If you don’t have Garden Gatherings, pull out that set from your stash. If you don’t have one in your stash, well, what are you waiting for?? <wink>

SIMPLY LEAVES IN GLORIOUS FALL COLOR

I love a good punch! The new Simply Leaves bundle makes autumn cards a snap. We don’t have a lot of color change with the seasons on Maui, so a fall card in August makes as much sense as one in October!

“Punch out a bunch of these and then arrange them on your card” seems to be a recurring them in my projects lately, but that’s exactly what I did here. I love the extra texture from the Gingham DSP and the way it coordinates with the Embossing Folder.

Get ready for fall, wherever you are! And would today be a good day to send a card? Not a birthday, not a thank you, just a “hello my friend” kind of card. You might never know how much it means.

FERN AND FLORA CASE FROM STEMPELMESSI

I love a blended background, and I was so inspired by one of our Artisans that I made a nearly exact CASE (Copy and Share with Everyone) of her project.

Blending the color takes practice, and it also takes patience. I’m not good at either one, but I’m working on it!

AN EASY MOONLIT FLORA COLLAGE WITH THE ROUNDED RECTANGLE PUNCH

I’m a big fan of quick and easy. The hardest part of making this card is choosing from all the gorgeous patterns in the Moonlit Flora Designer Series package. Once you’ve made those decisions, you’re practically finished with the card.

Stamp the framed image on Old Olive card stock with Old Olive ink and punch it out. Emboss your greeting on Golden Glow card stock and die cut it with the smallest Nested Essentials rectangle dies – it happens to be a perfect fit! Wind the ribbon back and forth between those two pieces, no need to tie a knot. Stampin’ Seal holds it in place!

I find it easiest to punch all my rectangles and arrange them on my front panel, then adhere them. When I shared this project with a group earlier this month, there were a lot of variations on the layout of these shapes. Go ahead and have some fun! Everything you need is in the Online Store.
