Warm Wishes was featured in last year’s Holiday catalog and although it’s retired I couldn’t help but share this idea. You could get pretty creative with some Stampin’ Sponges and come close to this – but Warm Wishes was faster.

I love this wreath – it’s so versatile:
This goes together more quickly than you would think, and I love the layers of texture. The Pool Party layer is embossed with the Perfect Polka dots TIEF that echos the gold embossed berries on the wreath.
The gold Bakers Twine is just pressed into a glue dot on either end, then pressed onto the back of the wreath and the Gold Glimmer heart. Quick, I tell you!
And as you can see, it’s possible to just stamp that wreath all willy-nilly and have it come out ok. At least in my eyes {wink}

It’s Blog Tour time…and that time of year…yes, there are packages to wrap! You might be surprised to find you have the resources to come up with some pretty trendy wrapping at your fingertips!
I started with our gorgeous wrapping paper, currently available at a great price as a Year-End-Closeout. This paper is thick and peek-proof:
Nope, can’t see through it! I tied our Natural 7/8″ Ribbon around the wrapped box and then started to play with embellishment:
Star Framelits and Lost Lagoon paper and embellishments create a package that works for the holidays or even a December birthday.
For a completely different look, I punched circles in Cherry Cobbler, Gold Glimmer, and Typeset Designer Series paper and strung them on Linen Thread. The Glimmer paper is attached with a glue dot, one on either side of the thread, so there’s lots of sparkle.
If you eliminate the star and change out the colors, you have a package wrapped for any occasion.
Think outside the box here (get it? GET IT??) Wrap in DSP, or even a brown paper bag or newspaper. Look for the widest, brightest ribbon that you have and wrap it around your package. Punch shapes – flowers, stars, squares, triangles – and string them on linen thread or baker’s twine. The possibilities are endless! Wrap away!

Here’s my take on the Sizzix Bigz Fry Box designed for Christmas treats:
A few Hershey Kisses in a cello bag tied with a cheery bit of ribbon and your favors are complete! I made quite a few of these and they go together so quickly – the fry box is VERY EASY to assemble! Just the thing for all of those last minute goodie gifts.
The phrases – I used a variety of them – are from Good Greetings, the exclusive Holiday Catalog Hostess Set. The Old Olive box is stamped with the snowflakes and trees from Cheerful Greetings. Photopolymer sets are super flexible, so I was able to curve the trees in an arc to match the curve across the back of the box.  The Real Red box is embellished with one of the trees from the Festival of Trees.

This is as close to snow as I’m going to see this winter:
Not that I’m really complaining. Although if I wanted to complain, I would grumble about the fact that Stampin’ Up! retired Festive Flurry and the coordinating framelits after only one year. They’re so beautiful! But I’m not in charge of that, and I have no desire to have that responsibility either.
I used my snips to trim the interior image a couple of times so that I could layer on the color. I don’t mind cutting straight lines at all.
Take a look and see what Cheryl and Crystal have done with their calendars this month. And if you get more snow than this, I hope it’s all this beautiful!

Love this Bright and Beautiful set of stars:
The inspiration for this card came from Sandy MacIver. I had initially hoped to make the card with the top point of the star a continuous piece of paper front to back (rather than punching a hole to secure the front to the back) but I learned that the point is too narrow to make that work. I don’t like to add bows with glue dots, so I needed to figure out a way to make this one go through the card stock and still “tie pretty”.
This is the back of the card. I put the Silver Taffeta Ribbon through a hole punched at the top of the stars and tied it once in front, then wrapped it around the back and tied it once again (when I say tied, I mean like the first step in tying a shoelace – what’s that called? an overhand knot?) Those two “overhand knots” stabilize the ribbon so that when you bring it back around to the front the bow is straight, not catty-wompus. (Which IS a word, despite spell check trying to tell me it is not.)
I stamped a single word inside and added a few small stars to the envelope. The envelope itself was made with the Envelope Punch board to fit a 5×5 card. This card looks a lot more time-consuming than it is – give it a try and tell me what you think.
