A Holiday Homes CASE

Saw this card and loved it so much I made my own copy:

Maui Stamper Holiday Home Photopolymer

  • Stamps:  Holiday Home
  • Color Palette:  Memento Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, So Saffron
  • Accessories:  Owl Punch (heart), Homemade Holiday Framelits, Big Shot

I made very few changes to the original as Michelle did a beautiful job.  One of the things I did change was to add a tiny bit of So Saffron in the lights and at the windows.  I like the feeling of being at home that it creates.

Won’t you make a card today?

It’s World Card Making Day!  Did you know there was such a thing?  It’s a great day to make – and send – a card!

Maui Stampers Amazing Birthday Four Feathers

  • Stamps:  Amazing Birthday, Four Feathers
  • Color Palette:  Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White
  • Accessories:  Back to Black DSP, Feathered Framelits, Crushed Curry Bakers Twine, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers

Maui Stampers Amazing Birthday Four FeathersI used daubers to blend the colors on the tallest feather – and the Daffodil plus the Bermuda created a beautiful transitional green shade.

Maui Stampers Amazing Birthday Four FeathersThese feathers are addicting!  Sometimes I neglect the inside of a card, but this one was for my BFF Cheryl.

Maui Stamper and Create With Cheryl

Make a card, send a card…even if it’s tomorrow.

Miss you…

A card helps to make the distance seem a little shorter:

Maui Stamper Holiday House Miss You

  • Stamps:  Holiday Home, Gorgeous Grunge, Just Sayin’
  • Color Palette:  Soft Sky, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizazz, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories: Homemade Holiday and Word Bubble Framelits, All is Calm Washi tape

When you live on a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, separations happen.  Sometimes they’re short term, sometimes they’re for a long time.  Sometimes I really don’t like them.  Most of the time, I put on my big girl pants and deal with it.

Making a card helps.

Celebrating the Festival of Trees

I’ve resisted Christmas cards for as long as I could – time to start planning and celebrating!

Maui Stamper Festival of Trees

  • Stamps:  Festival of Trees, Good Greetings
  • Color Palette:  Pear Pizazz, Pool Party, Whisper White, Old Olive
  • Accessories:  2 1/2″ circle punch, Tree punch, All is Calm Washi tape, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, Rhinestone Jewels, Finishing Touches Edgelits, the Big Shot

Maui Stamper Festival of TreesI don’t usually have the patience for Dazzling Diamonds.  You have to WAIT for it to DRY.  HUMMM.  But I’m glad I waited.

Maui Stamper Festival of TreesThis is the inside – the little ornament dots in the set make great snow, or raindrops, or just little random patterns.  You choose.

Maui Stamper Festival of TreesThe stamp set is available as a photopolymer #135059 for $15.95.  LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to see through the image to line it up!!  The punch is #135859 at $16.95, but you know you need the bundle!   #137640  $27.95 and save 15%.  Get it HERE

It’s RemARKably Scary Fun!

Welcome to the September RemARKable Blog tour – our theme is Scary Fun this month!  Crafters are always thinking a month or two in advance, although some of us (names omitted to protect the innocent) don’t actually DO anything until the last minute 🙂

Let’s start with little treats:

Maui Stamper Freakie Friends Tiny Treat BoxThe Tiny Treat boxes are 2″ all the way around – not too big and not too small.  Just the right size for Halloween-sized chocolate!

Maui Stamper Freakie Friends Tiny Treat BoxThese monsters from Freaky Friends remind me of Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak – an all time favorite in the Stamper Household!

Maui Stamper Freakie Friends Tiny Treat BoxThe Very Vanilla panel is 1 5/8″ wide and 9″ long.  There are two small holes in the lid which I used to thread the Two-Tone trim.  I had help, too:

Maui Stamper Crafting AssistantOne more treat package:

Maui Stamper Holiday Invitation Muslin Halloween BagThe Decorative masks – Stripes and Dots or Hearts and Stars – are some of my favorites from the 2014-2015 catalog.  A couple of minutes with a dauber and POW!  Magic!

Maui Stamper Holiday Invitation Muslin Halloween BagDid you see the images stamped right on the clothespin?  We have big ones now, too!

Maui Stamper Freaky Friends Admit One Last but not least, a Halloween card to share a giggle.  In my case, there’s a long story behind a broken vacuum in the Stamper household, and the broom really is getting a workout.

Maui Stamper Freaky Friends Admit OneThe goofy owl sees that broom and is worried it may be destined for her.

Maui Stamper Freaky Friends Admit OneThis cat, however, is smart enough to stay out of the way!  All images are from Freaky Friends with the exception of the ticket from That’s the Ticket.

Now you’re off to Audra Monk’s Crafty Yogi to see what she has to share!  Hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s RemARKable tour – Pin us, leave comments, share the love!

An Eclectic Pocket

I haven’t made a pocket card for ages – good enough reason to make one today!

Maui Stamper Kinda Eclectic Pocket card

The Envelope Punch board makes a much more satisfying pocket – no fussing with adhering the sides, just a nice clean envelope!  Cut off one side to create an opening for the card inside and assemble the rest as though you were assembling an ordinary envelope.

Maui Stamper Kinda Eclectic Pocket card

I used Park Lane DSP for the belly band and the strip across the top of the card, and that’s what drove the color palette.  A little stamping, a couple of punched butterflies, and this one is ready for the mailbox!

Maui Stamper Kinda Eclectic Pocket card

Well, almost ready – I’m hooked on these Starburst framelits – they make such a great layer!  The button and the Baker’s Twine will make this a little bumpy for USPS, but a little cushion – and an extra stamp – should make it all right.

Today is the last day for the Big Shot promotion, and the new Holiday catalog is in full swing!  Enjoy your holiday weekend and don’t forget to do a little craftin’.

Oh Snap

One of my free stamps from convention was Snapshot:

Maui Stamper Oh Snap That camera is great fun and it’s an easy fussy cut. (I know, I often say something is easy to cut out.  I’m being honest, but maybe my idea of easy and your idea of easy aren’t exactly the same.  You’ll have to interpret for yourself.)  I played around with a lot of color combinations to color it – using Blendabilities, of course.

Maui Stamper Oh Snap Just Sayin'

Adding this message inside was VERY easy.  It’s those little extra steps – a stamped inside, an embellished envelope – that make a card personal.

Alphabet: Larger than Life

I earned a free stamp set at Convention 2014 and chose the Larger Than Life Numbers and Letters:

Maui Stamper Honeycomb Larger Than Life Monogram

  • Stamps:  Larger Than Life Letters and Numbers, Gorgeous Grunge
  • Color Palette:  Island Indigo, Very Vanilla
  • Accessories:  Typeset Specialty DSP, Honeycomb TIEF, Starburst Framelits, Island Indigo Chevron Ribbon, Handheld Stapler (Holiday 2014 Sneak Peak)

The honeycomb pattern is created by inking the raised side of the TIEF and pressing the paper into it – VERY easy with a big WOW factor.  I added a little sploosh of Gorgeous Grunge on this one as I didn’t press as hard on the TIEF.

Maui Stamper Honeycomb Larger Than Life Monogram

I’m a big fan of monograms, although I know they’re somewhat outdated.  And boy oh boy, am I a fan of the new Handheld Stapler!  It dispenses short little staples – oh so cute!

Maui Stamper Honeycomb Larger Than Life MonogramThis is the same concept but without the Grungification…I like it grungified better.

Maui Stamper Short and Sweet $150 in Stampin' Up! product for $99Don’t miss the Short and Sweet promotion – $150 in Stampin’ Up! product for $99 when you sign up to be a demonstrator (and discounted Stampin’ Up! product for-evah!)  No obligation, no pressure – click HERE for more information.

Maui Stamper boxes of photosAnd if you – like me – have boxes of photos that need taming, stop by tomorrow (Sunday August 24) from noon til 4pm to find out how you can quickly and affordably take those pictures from forgotten to FABULOUS!

RemARKable Pinworthy New Beginnings

It’s the second Thursday and that means another RemARKable Pinworthy tour!  We’re celebrating new beginnings this month and I found the PERFECT stamp set:  Hello Love!

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveHow is it possible to resist these cheeky little birds??  This set covers so many card occasions.  Haven’t noticed it?  It’s in the back of the catalog with the Host sets – more on that later.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveThose little pearls are colored with Blendabilities, a card maker’s  best friend.  I used Versamark and my Baked Brown Sugar FFIP to emboss that little birdie.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveOn the inside is the companion bird – this little chub cracks me up!!  I chose to use the Aquapainter to give him a softer, watercolored look.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveThese soft, Lullaby DSP colors are just as suited to a wedding or bridal shower – I inked the bird on the arrow but left off the ends this time.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveThe messages fit perfectly into the word bubble, and the Word Bubble framelits eliminate the need for fussy cutting.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveThe tattle-tale message is on the inside of the card this time!

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveThis set has such versatile images – when I saw the sun I knew I had to make an all yellow – well, an all Hello Honey – card!

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveLullaby DSP and the Decorative Dots TIEF add texture to this simple layout.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveI used markers again to hand-color the stamped message inside the card.  It takes just a minute, and it’s a big WOW punch.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveThe mix of patterns in the Lullaby DSP is really versatile – although it’s called Lullaby, the name really reflects the colors more than the patterns.  And although many of the images in the Hello Love set are small, they work well with creative card layouts.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveDoesn’t this bird look like it has a baby bump?  SERIOUSLY???

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Hello LoveThe way the images in Hello Love all work together makes me really happy.  Oh Happy Day!

Maui Stamper Hello Love Host Stamp Set

  • Hello Love wood mount #133925 $18.00 HOST purchase only
  • Hello Love clear mount #133928 $13.00 HOST purchase only
  • Lullaby Designer Series paper #133695  $10.95

All the cards feature the Hello Love stamp set and the Lullaby Designer Series paper.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Pinworthy Tour Lullaby DSP and Color PaletteI used what you might consider the “Boy” palette from Lullaby – Pistachio Pudding, Hello Honey, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White – sounds like dessert!

Hello Love is a Host set, meaning it can only be purchased with Host Dollars earned by (wait for it…) being a Stampin’ Up! Host!  Contact your demonstrator – or me if you don’t have a demonstrator – to learn more about the many ways you can host an event.

Whew!  Hope you’re in love with Hello Love!  Head on over to Audra’s Crafty Yogi to visit the next stop on the Pinworthy tour.  Thanks for stopping by!
