My favorite way to preserve memories is with photos – just ask my family!

I began with the Hello Life Project kit (#137949 $24.95), but chose to change it up with my own color palette. Most of my accents are Bermuda Bay, with a little bit of Pool Party thrown in.

I used the On Film framelits (#132969 $29.95) to create an additional photo mat – it’s a bit larger than the ones provided but coordinates perfectly. I also chose to make a tassel instead of pom-poms using the Pool Party Bakers Twine available in the Occasions catalog. The technique is the same, but you only cut one end of the looped twine, and you tie off directly underneath the end that remains looped. I used thin white Bakers Twine to tie off the tassel and wrapped Bermuda Bay 1/8″ taffeta ribbon over that, securing with a glue dot.

I punched some flowers to create a blossom at the end of the banner, and added stamped images from the coordinating Hello Life stamp set (#137136 $24.95).

I stacked banner pieces from the kit and pinned them on with the clothes pins which were included. Everything on the frame can be moved, allowing maximum flexibility as I have new photos to enjoy, and I have heaps of pieces left over for additional embellishments and projects.

This was an AMAZING tip we learned from Carrie Cudney at convention last summer! Line up your self-adhesive stickers on a window sheet…

Place them where you want them, press down the exposed top half to secure, and gently remove the window sheet to press them in place in a gloriously straight line!!

Crystal and I worked on these together, and as you can see, the same kit in two different sets of hands can turn out as two completely unique projects.

She made flowers too, and hung them from our gorgeous new White Jute.

It would even be possible to just FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and make the kit exactly as it was produced! Just print some photos – you know you have them stored on your phone, your hard drive, discs, wherever – and get them in front of your eyes!

WEEKLY DEALS and a sassy new photopolymer set!

Everyone loves DEALS:

This is Just Kidding, a new photopolymer set #140667 ($15.95 US). Where’s the stamp that goes after Saying “goodbye” is hard… the one that says But not as hard as saying “oopsie, I was wrong”? I would wear that one out!

Finally, I have an announcement that makes me both proud and sad. Stampin’ Up! has permanently discontinued the Blendabilities line as a direct result of unacceptable quality issues. No one is happy about this situation, but it is the best decision given the issues at hand. The manufacturer was unable to supply a consistently high quality product, and we ALL expect quality first and foremost from Stampin’ Up! As much as I would like it to be otherwise, this (awesome) product is no longer available. Please contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns and I will do my best to resolve them.

An Exquisite Butterfly

I finally broke out the Butterfly Basics bundle:

The bad news is that the Butterflies Thinlets are currently unavailable. It’s a serious challenge, but it’s one that is outside of Stampin’ Up!’s ability to control – the problem is due to shipping problems through the West Coast ports. I’m taking names and details now of anyone who would like this product so that as soon as it is available I can place an order.

Just a few construction details…

I cut the butterfly in Shimmer White paper, then used the negative template to draw an outline on a piece of vellum. I hand-trimmed the shape – can’t call it fussy cut because it wasn’t very fussy as the edges are hidden behind the die cut. I carefully adhered it with Tombo (the Wonder Adhesive). Use a very light touch with the Tombo. A few well-placed Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the butterfly above the ferns.

I struggled with the details but ultimately decided that for once, less could be more. I hope you enjoy! And please let me know if you’d like to be on my Priority List for the Butterfly Basics Bundle!

March is a little nuts, so Nuts About You seemed just right for the March calendar:

I used sponge daubers to color the tree stamp in order to get smooth coverage, and the markers to color the bird and the possum. It’s fun and it’s silly – kinda like me!

Paper Pumpkin Sweet Treats

I was really, REALLY happy when I opened up my January Paper Pumpkin box:

These little gems took about 45 minutes to put together and that included filling the bags with M&M’s (one for you, one for me, two for me, one for you…)

There were 24 in the package and 3 basic designs – that pleased the Math Nerd that lives deep in my soul.

The icing on the M&M’s (so to speak) was when I was inspired to make this Berry Basket with the still-available Under the Tree Specialty DSP. Be.Still.My.Heart.

Etch-a-Bird, Etch-a-Herd

I’ve seen it, you’ve seen it, we’ve all seen it – but I still had to make it:This card is so much fun to make! It’s all over Pinterest, and I’ve seen the design credited to so many different people that I can’t trace it back to one person – and I’ve tried. If this was your concept before the rest of the universe claimed it, YOU ROCK!

I chose the Host set Hello Love for this version, as my Hostess Club requested Valentines this month.

The sentiment on the inside is from the January My Paper Pumpkin subscription kit. Purchase a 3 month subscription during Sale-a-bration and save! Current Paper Pumpkin subscribers can purchase any of the available past kits or past kit refills (first comes with stamps, second does not).

This is the version that started the stampede. From the Herd was my first choice stamp set from the Occasions 2015 catalog and it is perfect for this card. We all had a pretty good laugh over the faces on these critters. I had to resist the urge to color in a face – any face. It wouldn’t be true to the concept. But i wanted to do it.

I mean, what’s not to love?

If you want to make this card just as you see it, you’ll need From the Herd and Teeny Tiny Wishes (for Happy Valentines’ Day). You’ll need Real Red, Sahara Sand, Shimmer White, Whisper White and Vellum cardstock. This card also uses the Big Shot and the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits, a 1″ circle punch, and the Project Life Corner Rounder. The only ink you’ll use will be Memento Black.

Look through your stash and pull out your line art stamps. I’ll bet you have one that’s just perfect for this card!
