Happy Amazing Birthday

Last weekend we made #ImBringingBirthdaysBack cards:

There were 10 cards and everyone could choose which card and how many to make. It was a lovely Saturday afternoon, and I made quite a few cards myself. It worked out so well that I’m planning on doing another one soon. Let me know if you’d like to come.

I lopped off the first HAPPY from this sentiment to make it fit the picture in my head. The retired Black Glimmer paper leaped out of my stash and insisted on being included in this card.

I love how this card feels like a square card – the Whisper White panel is 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ – but measures a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ to make the whole envelope/mailing/postage thing work out. What’s the point of a birthday card that’s too much trouble to mail?

Happy Happy Birthday

A friend celebrated a special birthday recently:

Accessories: Park Lane DSP, Mellow Moss ribbon, Stampin’ Trimmer, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The technique is a very simple one, but there are nearly endless options. I cut rectangles of DSP at 4″ x 1 1/2″ and then used my paper trimmer to cut them diagonally from corner to corner, creating a series of triangles. At that point, it’s just a matter of assembling them in a pleasing pattern.

I kept the sentiment and embellishment simple, as this is a Manly Card. The stamp from Amazing Birthday was inked in 3 colors and then cut into pieces with paper snips to create texture and color for the sentiment.

It’s World Card Making Day! Did you know there was such a thing? It’s a great day to make – and send – a card!

I used daubers to blend the colors on the tallest feather – and the Daffodil plus the Bermuda created a beautiful transitional green shade.

These feathers are addicting! Sometimes I neglect the inside of a card, but this one was for my BFF Cheryl.

Make a card, send a card…even if it’s tomorrow.

A Sandy Box by the Seashore

Well, the box isn’t really sandy…it’s all about the look:

I went to a birthday party for our favorite neighborhood baker – it was a surprise, including the presence of her son, daughter, son-in-law and precious granddaughter from the mainland. Yes, I cried 🙂

I found a beautiful salt spray fragranced candle and wouldn’t you know it – the Box Punch Board created the PERFECT package. A little ribbon and a sea shell tag and we were ready to party!
