Happy Amazing Birthday

Last weekend we made #ImBringingBirthdaysBack cards:

Maui Stamper Beautiful Ride Amazing Birthday

  • Stamps:  Amazing Birthday, Beautiful Ride, Gorgeous Grunge
  • Color Palette:  Hello Honey, Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
  • Accessories:  Party Punch Pack, Black Glimmer paper (Holiday 2015), Stampin’ Write markers, Stampin’ Dimensionals

There were 10 cards and everyone could choose which card and how many to make.  It was a lovely Saturday afternoon, and I made quite a few cards myself.  It worked out so well that I’m planning on doing another one soon.  Let me know if you’d like to come.

I lopped off the first HAPPY from this sentiment to make it fit the picture in my head.  The retired Black Glimmer paper leaped out of my stash and insisted on being included in this card.

I love how this card feels like a square card – the Whisper White panel is 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ – but measures a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ to make the whole envelope/mailing/postage thing work out.  What’s the point of a birthday card that’s too much trouble to mail?

Sale-a-bration is wrapping up.  The last day for orders is next week Thursday at 7:50pm HST.  Avoid the rush:  shop HERE.FreeGift_PaperPumpkinApril2016

And at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I hope you’ll seriously consider the  April Paper Pumpkin.  The kits are beautifully designed and perfect to grab and go when you need a little crafty pick-me-up.  You can choose a one month subscription to try it out or save on a three month subscription and get a free SAB pick.  Deadline to receive the April kit is April 10th!

Weekly Deals and Last Minute Goodies

It wouldn’t be Tuesday without Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up!

Maui Stamper Weekly Deals December 22, 2015

There are still lots of great deals on the Year-End Sale page as well – I just ordered a few more Oh What Fun tag kits  (#139602, on sale for $14.70).  I have used them on absolutely everything this season and they take simple wrapping to WOW in a flash!

I also have some cute packaging to share, done by the oh-so-talented Robbie.  She is the Gift Queen every year for our Stampin’ Holiday Party, and this year was no exception.  She used the Mini Treat Bag thinlits to make these:

The antlers!!!  I love them – they’re from the Tree Builder Punch and they are perfect with the googlie eyes (any excuse to use googlie eyes is a valid excuse in my book.)

MauiStamper Winter Wonderland Treat Bag

Is there an elegant someone on your list?  This combination is very classy – the beautiful Winter Wonderland paper is retiring and is on sale (#139588, $10.40)

MauiStamper Santa Treat Bag

Last but certainly not least, Robbie made bags with the gorgeous red foil and used glimmer paper for accents.  The Black Glimmer paper is on sale (#139605 for $3.50) and it’s retiring too.

Don’t miss these great last-minute deals – shop online HERE!

Simple Fancy Folds with a Big POW!

Sometimes you see a card that just stops you in your tracks – this was one of those:

Maui Stamper Dawn-O Fancy Fold Howl-O-WeenThe amazing and oh-so-talented Dawn Olchefske shared this design for a double gate fold card – with her impeccable instructions.  I chose the same paper but I’d just done a design with Among the Branches and wanted to try something different.

Witchy Li’l Punkins

I am shamelessly CASEing these punkins:

Maui Stamper Curvy Keepsake Witchy PunkinsThey were apparently a big hit a Founders Circle, Stampin’ Up!’s recognition event for the top 100 demonstrators.  Janet Wakeland shared them privately with her RemARKable Stampers team , and Patty Bennett shared them on her blog with a little more detail.

Maui Stamper Curvy Keepsake Witchy PunkinsI made a punkin-patch worth of these for my hostess club – I know they’ll be after the chocolate inside!

Maui Stamper Curvy Keepsake Witchy PunkinsI used a variety of different stamps to embellish the sides – Chalk Lines, Sweet Stack, Awesomely Artistic, and Dotty Angles.  It’s a simple idea:  assemble the Curvy Keepsake Box, cut a slit down the center of the Spider Web doily and slip it over the handles.  I punched a 2 1/2″ circle of Black Glimmer paper and used a craft knife to cut a slit in the center of that (Patty’s example uses the Word Window punch).  I slipped the circle over the handles right on top of the doily.

Finally, I punched two trees from Black Glimmer paper and adhered them to one another with Tombo (the Wonder Adhesive).  I made a Builder Bow Punch bow with Happy Haunting DSP (told you I used it up!) and used Glue dots to put the bow on the “tree” and the tree on the handle.  Patty’s version is a little different – the hat lifts on and off – but I wanted my to stay put.

There’s still time – just a few cranks of that Big Shot and you’ll be halfway there!
