A CASE of DoneMark Papercrafts

When I saw THIS card by Karen Varley, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in England, I knew I had to have Beautiful Friendship. I’d been resisting it for weeks, trying to tell myself I had enough flower stamps, but it was not to be. My version is very similar:

I pierced a couple of holes in the Stitched Rectangle shape and threaded the linen thread through to tie the bow. I don’t like glue dots for this purpose, because the bow comes off. It’s one of my fussy bits.

I chose to make the floral images more dominant on the page, and I used a sticky note to mask the flowers so that the leaves would peep out from behind them. Other than that, this is a pretty simple card that you could mass produce for a variety of uses: congratulations, thank you, birthday, even a sympathy card.

Saying Farewell to Flowering Desert

I’m late to the Flowering Desert party, and I’m sorry that’s the case. It’s such a versatile set, the images are charming, and it’s really easy to use. There’s not a whole lot of desert here on Maui – that’s my story and I’m standing by it.

Crystal and I had a crafty mini-retreat recently and we really dove into this. We used as many colors as we possibly could, but I got a little carried away with my paper snips.

We CASEd Tami Hewlett, beginning with her gorgeous background. Her technique is to drop little puddles of color onto a silicone craft sheet and smoosh Shimmery White or Watercolor paper onto the sheet. We LOVED the effect with Shimmery White! Please stop by her blog and give her the love she deserves for this great concept.

This is a really playful set! The fussy cutting isn’t all that fussy, and if you tend to make extras “just in case” as I do, you’ll have enough for another card.

But HURRY. This sweet set is guaranteed to be available only through May 24, 2019. Shop HERE.

Sweet little cards and CASE-ing the mini

Did I mention  that Kellie and I spent the morning CASE-ing the other day?  We had to put our own spin on things, of course, but these two little cards are clearly first cousins to the note card on page 27 of the Occasions Mini.  We started with a 3×3 card

but quickly realized the proportions weren’t right.  Kellie figured out the card in the Mini wasn’t a square but a rectangle, and I didn’t want to make a card that I couldn’t find an envelope for, so we adjusted the card size to fit in the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die.

Vintage Vogue with Scallop Envelope

  • Vintage Vogue Clear Mount Stamp set
  • Pretty In Pink, Crushed Curry, and Sage Shadow card stock
  • Whisper White (1st card) and Naturals White (2nd card) card stock
  • Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry and Sage Shadow Classic Ink pads
  • Crushed Curry and Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Write markers
  • Big Shot and Scallop Envelope Bigz die
  • Scallop Trim border punch, paper snips, and Tombo Adhesive

It was so much fun to CASE these samples.  It’s relaxing to copy something, making changes to suit your personality and/or your supplies.  It’s almost like attending a class, except of course you have to cut all of your own paper.  I love designing my own projects, but sometimes I need to just make something instead of THINK about making something.

Have you stamped today?
