Floating high in July

I’ve only been in a hot air balloon once but it was an extraordinary experience.  When they are inflating the balloon, the burners are really noisy, but once you get into the air and you’re floating along it is incredibly quiet and serene.  The ground below you moves by with almost surreal speed, smoothly and silently.  I would love to go up again.

Maui Stamper 2013 Calendar July

  • Collage Curios stamp set (retired)
  • Real Red and Whisper White card stock
  • Real Red, Marina Mist, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit FFIP
  • Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker

Ink up the little hot air balloons and then use your Black Stampin’ Write marker to swipe across the bottom to highlight the basket.  You don’t have to wipe off the colored ink first.

Again, my apologies for featuring a retired stamp set but these calendar cards were created in January for a class and the stamps were part of our product line at that time.

May Dandelion Wishes

These flowers don’t have quite round enough a shape to be dandelions, but that’s what I see in them. I have enough of a romantic side that I still think of wishes when I see dandelions, not weed seeds heading off to yet another lawn.

Maui Stamper May 2013 Calendar

  • Summer Silhouettes and Collage Curios stamp sets
  • Regal Rose and Lucky Limeade FFIP
  • Blender pen
  • Pink Pirouette Shimmer Mist in a Stampin’ Spritzer

You do know that you can make any color of Shimmer Mist (just a little Champagne Mist Shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol) by adding a few drops from an Ink Refill don’t you? I always have a bunch of Stampin’ Spritzers on hand. They’re flat-out CHEAP and always good for a quick Wow.

Hurry off to the OnlineStore for your Champagne Shimmer – it’s headed for retirement.

A RemARKably Curious Day

Welcome to the Collage Curios RemARKable Stamp of the Month tour!   Whether you’re just beginning the tour here with the Maui Stamper or have been halfway across the USA with our many talented paper artists, I hope you’ll enjoy yourself today.  Those of you in New England deserve a blog tour after strugging through all the weather that has come your way this weekend!

The Collage Curios set is made up of primarily small images, and my first inclination would be to go small – 3×3 cards, milk carton favor boxes, or even jewelry crossed my mind.  The more I thought about it, the more I felt challenged to make a card that would still spotlight those small images but somehow find a balance.  Tell me what you think:
