PEACEFUL GREENERY IS NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS!

I took a very good look at the Peaceful Greenery 3D Embossing Folder and said to myself, “SELF, that is not just for Christmas!” I grabbed the Peace on Earth dies and a few odd floral die cuts languishing on my craft desk and set to work.

  • Stamps: With You In Mind
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Lemon Lolly
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Peace on Earth dies, Delightful Wishes dies, Peaceful Greenery 3D Embossing Folder, 1/4″ White Ribbon, Dauber, Party Dots (retired), Stampin’ Dimensionals

Those flowers are Lemon Lolly, cut from the Delightful Wishes dies. They have a little Daffodil Delight ink daubered on them for dimension, and there are some flecks amongst the Peaceful Greenery as well.

I added a few white die cuts on top of the Embossing Folder, and tucked in a Lost Lagoon one as well. The text from With You In Mind was cut out with my trusty Snips (oh, I hope we have a substitute soon!)

I had a moment of complete inspiration and ran the back flap of the envelope through the Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine with the embossing folder and let me tell you, it is GORGEOUS. Run, don’t walk to the Online Store for the Peaceful Greenery 3D Embossing Folder. Your SELF will thank you!

DIY CARD-MAKING TIPS FOR SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS

One of the best reasons I know for making a handmade card is to honor someone special. I was invited to a bridal shower last month that I couldn’t attend (something about 2,363 miles over the ocean). I really wanted to be there, so I sent my heart in a handmade card:

  • Stamps: Delightful Wishes
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Crumb Cake, Timid Tiger
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Gallery Blooms dies, Textured Notes dies, Delightful Wishes dies, Patterns of Friendship die, Perfectly Pears die, Linen Thread, Dauber, vellum, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I used a LOT of different dies for this card. If it seems larger than usual, you have a good eye: I made this card a 5 inch x 7 inch format. I layered paper and texture, but since I had to mail it, I left off any embellishment other than my beloved Linen Thread.

My technique for this card was relatively simple: I set out a stack of papers of papers for layering and played with them, then die cut multiples of all my favorite floral bits and pieces and moved them in and out over the top panel until I was satisfied. It wasn’t exactly scientific, but it worked for me!

To add texture to the layers, I started with the Patterns of Friendship die. It’s one of my all-time favorites for texture, and I’m very sad to see it on the Last Chance list – but if you hurry, you can get a great deal on it. The Textured Notes dies are another product I consider indispensable for simple elegance – if they’re not in your crafty stash, maybe they should be!

Our niece – and Goddaughter – will be married in November, and that flight has been on the books for months! I won’t miss the wedding for the world. But since I couldn’t be at the shower, I sent her my love with a paper hug.

DIY CALENDAR BLOG HOP: FEBRUARY 2025

Welcome to the second DIY Calendar Blog Hop of 2025. I hope you’re ready for some inspiration from our crafty calendar crew!

I am smitten with the Floral Delight Suite, but I’ve primarily worked with the yellow tones of the DSP. It was time to branch out (get it???) and try a new color combination. I’m loving the lavenders!

  • Stamps: Delightful Wishes, Elements of Text
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Pecan Pie, Gray Granite
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Delightful Wishes dies, Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots, Masking Paper, Stampin’ Dimensionals, DIY Calendar template

This branch can be die cut or stamped, and for the calendar I wanted the extra lift of the die cut. Adding each blossom takes a little more time, but I hope you like the end result. I don’t think I would do this for a stack of cards, but it’s no problem for a little calendar page.

And for the record, I LOVE LOVE LOVE our new Elements of Text stamps. Trust me when I tell you that you NEED this stamps set!!

I created this “cheat sheet” for the floral spray if you prefer to stamp them. The stamps are mounted on blocks and each block is numbered. The number is placed at the top of the block to make it easier to line up the flowers. I designed the cheat sheet for THIS project.

How do you like Delightful Wishes in lavenders? It’s a completely different feeling, much more calm and gentle versus the happy exuberance of shades of yellow.

DELIGHTFUL WISHES WITH FERN 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER

Take a look at that beautiful vellum paper! It’s part of the Floral Delight Suite, and it is truly delightful. The whole suite is absolutely charming.

  • Stamps: Delightful Wishes
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Garden Green
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Delightful Wishes dies, Fern 3D Embossing Folder, 1/8″ Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I’m gonna get real here: I have no idea if those flowers are layered the way they’re supposed to be. I tried Plan A, Plan B, Plan C-D-E-F-G and finally just said “This is good!”

But that’s what I love about making a card. You get to decide. You create it as you see it.

If I was to give this card to someone and that person were to say “I’m not sure those flowers are lined up right” well, let’s just say that might be the last card they would get from me. Right?

This entire gorgeous suite is in the January-April 2025 mini catalog as well as the Online Store. (The Suite is currently unavailable, waiting the return of the ribbon. It’s expected on February 3, but you can purchase all the other elements of the suite right now.)

The embossing folder isn’t part of the suite, it’s an old friend that is still available, so pick it up while you still can. And be sure to check out the options for Sale-a-bration 2025 😉
