DSP Sale | The Maui Stamper

I’m late to the Spotlight on Nature party, but I think my first effort makes up for my tardiness. The floral image is a teeny tiny bit too big for my calendar, but I persevered because it’s really all about the butterfly. Tell me what you think:

Color Palette: Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Peach Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Memento Black
Accessories: Stampin’ Blends, Paper Snips, Wink of Stella, Multi-purpose glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The images are all colored with Stampin’ Blends – I like to finish them up by taking the lightest blend and using the brush end to smooth over the entire image. The butterfly got a little Wink of Stella to add sparkle (you can see it better below) and I cut a second wing with my snips to add dimension to the butterfly.

That second wing has a body just like the one stamped directly on the calendar. I used a little multi-purpose glue to adhere the two bodies and tucked a couple of narrow pieces of dimensional behind the body on the back of the wing to make sure it stood up from the calendar.

The Inked Botanicals Designer Series Papers are primarily soft, tone-on-tone designs that are ideal for spotlighting a stamped focal point. They’re on sale this month too!

I used daubers to apply the ink to the flower stamp as it’s a single image. The daubers are easy to control so your ink goes just where you want it. I learned a new trick, too: they clean up quickly and completely if you stamp them on the Stampin’ Shammy!

I used my Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend to add a hint of color to the Irridescent Jewels. Use the brush tip, but use a very light touch as too much pressure will cause the tip to fray.

The Inked Botanical pieced panels used as a background are 1.5″ x 5.125″, 2.25″ x 1.75″, and 2.25″ x 3.125″. (.125 = 1/8, but the fractions get confusing in text.)

This is a simple card, but the Designer Series Paper (did I mention it’s on SALE???) makes a big difference. You could turn out a set of these with different papers in the blink of an eye! Shop the Online Store for the papers and inks you need.
