Things to Put Things In

Doesn’t that sound straight out of Winnie the Pooh?  The Bear of Very Little Brain seemed to be happy with containers.  We made a few different containers using the Owl Occasions set:

Here’s that chubby owl with a Bigz Stocking on a little frosted bag that just barely survived our class!  These bags are a little smaller than the classic kraft bag, and I find them a little more useful too.  Just run that stocking through your Big Shot with a TIEF (we used the Argyle folder) and stick it onto the bag with Glue Dots.  Glue dots rule!

Next up is the Fancy Favor box – one of the most useful, practical Bigz XL dies Stampin’ Up! carries.  There are two Fancy Favors here – one constructed as usual, the other cut short and folded over at the top  to make a lid.  Here’s a better look:

The sides are constructed in the usual way, but the bottom is rolled over like a paper bag instead of folded like the bottom of a box.  Because the top and bottom are exactly the same size, it can be a little tricky to put the top on – I find if you don’t roll it over until it’s fitted on top you have better luck.  And of course every project is better with a little bit of tulle and some Champagne Glimmer paper!!

This last project is so easy it’s almost embarassing.  Cut some fabric – we chose the Essentials Designer Fabric – and place it under the jar ring.  Stamp a quick tag with Owl Occasions and cut it out with the Decorative label punch.  Add a little bling and some ribbon around the jar ring and you are finished – except for filling the jar of course!

Do you have the RemARKable Stamp of the Month Blog Tour on your calendar for November 11?  There will be LOADS of inspiration for the Winter Memories stamp set – be sure you stop by!

Kellie is wicked cool

One last hurrah for Halloween:

It’s the ever-talented Kellie again – I think we need to get that girl her own blog!  She’s kinda busy though, and she’s generous enough to let me share her artwork with you.  This is the Fancy Favor Bigz die for the Sizzix Big Shot.  She put vellum windows on either side and stamped them with the bats and spider web from the Wicked Cool stamp set.  One of those little battery operated tea lights would be just the thing inside this luminaria, don’t you think?

She shared one more card with me, too:

This is Cajun Crazy card stock with the Wicked Fun Specialty paper.  Those folds are such an easy technique but boy do they make this card pop!

Have lots of fun and stay safe this Halloween night!
