Natural Prints dies | The Maui Stamper

Hues of Happiness Designer Series Papers are colorful, but they’re not chaotic. They make a perfect backdrop for a single image. Here they highlight the Maidenhair Fern from Natural Prints:

I chose Fresh Freesia out of that DSP to offset the brilliant green of Granny Apple. I like that they’re similar intensities, and emotionally those two colors almost vibrate together. I think that makes “the message really “To a wonderful friend” really resonate.

I flicked the edge of my Highland Heather Stampin’ Write marker against the cap to get that fine spatter. It’s hard to see in photos but in your hand, it softens the Basic White card stock.

The Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder is my current favorite. Does that happen to you? For a while I was all about the Fern EF, and then I got hooked on the Tropical Hideaway background stamp. Now it’s Timeworn Type, but don’t hold your breath – I’m pretty fickle.

When I saw the Natural Prints dies I was immediately taken by the wreath shape, but I wasn’t sure how to use it. Ultimately, I gave in to the fact that it had to be a square card.

I kept fiddling with the layout and colors and finally settled on Pear Pizazz and pale Papaya. I colored both the flower die cuts and the crinkle ribbon with the Pale Papaya Blends to get exactly what I envisioned.

Side note: when you color the Crinkled Ribbon with Blends it develops a little more body – not so much that it’s hard to work with, just the right little extra bit.

I mashed the ribbon onto some glue dots and did the same with the die cut flowers. I put a tiny piece of Calypso Coral card stock behind the opening in the flowers. It’s not enough to see without squinting , but I know it’s there.

There will be a custom envelope, but it’s been a busy week and I’m not ready to send this card. Besides, I want to leave it here for you and if I wait until the envelope is done, we’ll, that might be a while. So enjoy – and then go shopping HERE.
