LAST CHANCE FOR COUNTRY FLOWERS + TEXTURED FLORAL

Welcome to my April Last Dance/Last Chance series! Today’s card is another “two-for” featuring Country Flowers and Textured Floral. I’ve designed this card with Lost Lagoon and Daffodil Delight, and I’m “delighted” with the way the two colors complement each other.

  • Stamps: Country Flowers, Textured Floral
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Gray Granite
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Country Flowers dies, Textured Floral dies, Textured Notes dies, Stampin’ Blends, Subtles DSP Pack, Jute Twine, Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals

That beautiful rectangular die is from Textured Notes – it’s fairly new, and it’s not Last Chance. I slipped in a little Wild Wheat Jute trim, and I think it works well with Daffodil and Lemon Lolly. I love the way Country Flowers and Textured Floral stamps and dies coordinate with each other! Both the stamps and dies for these two versatile sets are discounted.

I’ve left this card without a sentiment. I like to have a few of these on hand for that last minute, “I need a card” moments (oh, you bet I have those!). Visit the Online Store to see all the great Last Chance choices. And thanks for visiting today.

TEXTURED FLORAL HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I’m venturing into a bit of a shabby chic look today. It’s out of my usual style, but not too far out. I’ve used my favorite sheet of Earthen Elegance DSP as a base for the card and added a few stems from the Textured Floral dies.

  • Stamps: Charming Sentiments, Queen Bee, Lighting the Way
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Lost Lagoon, Pebble Path
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Textured Floral dies, Earthen Elegance DSP, Linen Thread, Pebble Path Textured Ribbon, Stampin’ Trimmer, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The DSP really sets the tone for the background. I used a variety of stamps from Queen Bee and Lighting the Way to add more texture, stamping them off and layering them.

I could have cut all 3 die cuts separately and layered them, but no, I had to do it the hard way. I put them together along the edge of a Lost Lagoon panel and ran them through the Big Boss part way, stopping before they cut through the edge. I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut a straight line across the panel, leaving just the stems attached. That panel got the same background texture treatment as the DSP.

I finished it off with Pebble Path ribbon and Linen thread. The inside has a simple set of lines to create a custom look – it’s a handmade card, isn’t it?

BEST LABEL and SOMETHING FANCY

I’m still playing with DIY backgrounds. I’ve found that punches work well as every piece is the same size and shape. Best Label created a lot of texture!

  • Stamps: Something Fancy, Country Bouquet
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Lemon Lolly, Soft Sea Foam
  • Accessories: Best Label punch, Big Boss, Stylish Shapes Dies, Textured Floral Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I confess that I grew a little weary of lining up and adhering all those little Best Labels. Don’t look too closely, as they’re not perfectly straight! If I were to make another, I would use pencil lines or washi tape to create a grid, but I was feeling bold and trusted my eye to get it straight. Oops.

The little hearts are from Country Bouquet. Since they’re open, they’re a light-touch accent to the sentiment. I thought about adding some Lemon Lolly Solid Gems but left them off in favor of the little floral clusters from the Textured Floral dies.

I hope you’re inspired to have some fun creating backgrounds with punches. Maybe I’ll try a little larger one next time 😁 Have a look at the Online Store.
