Simple and Sweet
The Sweet Sayings Cards and Envelopes are Grrrrrrrrrreat!!
(I think my demographic may be showing…does anyone else remember Tony the Tiger?)

And now for something completely different…
Change the font (this is from Oh, Hello) and create my own DSP with the Dictionary background set and it’s a Manly Card – even with those cute squiggles and tiny hearts at the bottom.
Yet another look – very girly – with a sentiment from Four You and the fabulous little blooms from Petite Petals. It’s hard to see in the photo, but the Coastal Cabana panel is embossed with Perfect Polka dots and carried through with the pierced line on the Whisper White oval (love those piercing guides!!)

A RemARKable Sale-a-bration
What a way to go out – our last Best of 25 Years Anniversary Blog Tour features stamps from Sale-a-bration. Everyone is an SAB fan!
These images shouted “Tags” to me – as so many of the 25th Anniversary sets have done. Making tags is even more fun with our two new tag punches – I’ve used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (#133324) on these tags, along with a generous helping of Washi Tape.
Don’t you think Pale Pistachio and Blushing Bride are a pleasing combination? Say yes 🙂
This was one of my favorite images when it came out the first time and I was a happy stamper to see it again. I had the oh-so-brilliant idea to add speckles to the flowers with my white gel pen:
Super simple – just dots – but I love the pop. Did you know…if your gel pen gets fussy, open it up, push a slim bamboo bbq skewer down the ink chamber and give it a stir. Works like a charm!
Those smudges on my ribbon are not really there – I just checked. So much for photo editing! I had loads of fun combining ribbons for these tags. Sometimes you need to step back and just LOOK at your stash instead of go forward with a purpose.
One of my favorite people in the UNIVERSE is expecting a baby girl this spring, so I have babies on my mind. (She’s also expecting a boy – twins! But baby boys don’t want flowered tags.)
The new gold Washi tape in the Occasions catalog looks fabulous with Soft Suede. It’s a burnished gold rather than a bright gilt, and that makes it a lot more versatile. Versatile, just like each of the 25th Anniversary Best of stamp sets!

Love These Fresh Prints!
My Crystal Ball says there’s going to be a lot of Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Crumb Cake in my future:
It’s not often that I find a Designer Series paper pack that I love so thoroughly, but Fresh Prints is that pack. The colors are – wait for it – so FRESH! (Had to be said. I’m not sorry.) The designs are really easy to use, and there’s a good balance of white-based patterns versus color based patterns, so they mix well.
And do you love that brad? I love the candy dots, but I was looking for something else. This little bitty button-brad is a Vintage Trinket and I think it has a low enough profile to slide past the USPS Fat Envelope Fighters. (I know, they have a job to do – but I’m still gonna try!)

When I first saw the little banner punch in the 2014 Sale-a-bration catalog, I though “meh”. I mean, I can cut a banner. It’s easy! Whoa man, not as easy as punching…and there’s a stamp set that coordinates with this punch too. Start planning your SAB orders, my friends, because you will find yourself with a big case of the “Gimmees” when January 28 rolls around. Need a catalog? Just let me know!

Big Wish Three Ways
Sometimes an idea for a card just pops into my head and says “Let’s go!”

I confess, I used markers for these images. The card in my head insisted. That big funky “B” wasn’t taking kindly to the markers though, so I used the FFIP (Firm Foam Ink Pad) with a sponge dauber. You get great ink coverage with daubers on rubber!
This ALMOST became a 3×3 note card, but I have plenty of those right now and I know I’m gonna need birthday cards.
I liked the idea so much I made a second card – oh, am I going to miss Gumball Green when it exits to make room for a new set of In Colors! It’s paired with Primrose Pink and Soft Suede.
You guessed it – one more card (yes, it’s a full card, I’m just showing you the best part). Gumball Green with Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit. I’m going to miss that stitched ribbon too – maybe Stampin’ Up! will bring it out in a new set of colors, but right now it’s only available in the 2012-2014 In Colors. I have a sneaking suspicion it will disappear, so I’m stocking up.
Do you have a favorite combination? I do, and I’ll bet you can guess which one it is – but I’m not telling. At least not now.

Introducing the New RemARKable Pin-Worthy Blog Tour!
Pinterest is my favorite Black Hole on the internet – I have spent hours there looking at anything and everything. Our new tour features a Pin-Worthy theme every month and we are starting off with a flourish on the theme of True Love – or as our fearless leader Jan puts it, “Lovey-Dovey”.
Our Crumb Cake note-card sized envelopes have been on my desk lately – I’m SUPPOSED to be making (and sending!) thank-you notes! The new Retro Fresh DSP (that’s Designer Series Paper to the uninitiated) paper pack has Crumb Cake in its color palette, so it seemed a natural pairing:

Love those Petite Petals from the new Occasions catalog – and they are bundled with the coordinating punch. I’m a sucker for deals like that 🙂
There’s something about these Crumb Cake envelopes that begs for lining. I played with all the patterns before choosing this open, floral pattern. Honestly? I just liked it the best.
On the inside I added a sentiment from Memorable Moments – I love that the words are separate (Happy and Anniversary – there’s also a Birthday stamp). No Stamp-a-ma-jig this time, just stamp-a-ma-GO!
I was inspired by this sketch – it’s this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch – so I made a second card with it using the same color palette:
Out with Real Red and in with Pool Party and Baked Brown Sugar. A minor change like that makes a major difference, don’t you think? This is still Retro Fresh DSP.    Piercing seems to be out of trend right now, but I’ve always loved how it adds texture and design without adding color, so I pulled out my Piercing Tool (aka Pokie Doodle) and the guide. It also reflects the little dots on the DSP (really, I planned it that way.)
This card needed a coordinating envelope as well. Love those dots!
The smallest heart is punched with the Owl Punch, and the larger one is a single punch. And what card doesn’t NEED some Linen Thread? Perfect touch.
Finally, the inside is stamped with the brand new Hip Notes image – don’t tell Mr. Maui Stamper, but this just might be his Valentine.

A new year, a new calendar
There’s something refreshing about turning the calendar page, and the most exciting turn of all is from December to January. Good morning, 2014!
How better to start the year than with one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! color combinations – Pool Party and Island Indigo? We’ve actually had a bit of rain here on the dry side of the island, and it’s always a sign of blessing and a cause for celebration. These beautiful drops from the My Friend stamp set are just right to start the year, especially with some sparkle.  I’m big on dreams and goals, and appreciate a little reminder to keep it positive sitting on my desktop.
This year my first-of-the-month Calendar post will be a Triple Treat – Crystal and Cheryl are posting calendars too! Take a look at their projects for a little more inspiration. If you’d like to create your own calendar, I have DIY calendar kits available. They’re $8 with the easel, $5 without (plus shipping) and you can find more details HERE.
I’ve been doing a lot of reflection as January first has approached, looking ahead to a new year. In my quest for inspiration I came across the Vivid and Brave website – and a list of journaling prompts for 2014. What a find!!! One of the prompts is Clearing the Clutter – and as a self-confessed pack-rat, I had already identified this as one of my highest priorities for 2014. However, the one that really started me thinking was What word or phrase will you eliminate from your vocabulary this year? So many directions to take that…my mind is spinning with the possibilities.
