ADORING HEARTS VALENTINE

The Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder is a bit of a sleeper. Just look at these gorgeous hearts – and the folder cuts out 9 at a time! Who knew? The Annual Catalog is full of surprises.

  • Stamps: Delightful Wishes, Bee My Valentine (inside)
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder, Country Lace DSP, Scoring Tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The white panel on the front of the card has a tab that slips between the Poppy Parade card base and the DSP. I used Tear ‘n Tape (aka TNT) on both sides of the tab to make sure it stayed put. Once it was secure, I added the layers of Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade.

This is a perfect Valentine for someone you love, but see often enough that there’s nothing more to say than “Happy Valentine’s Day”. There’s just enough room to sign your name with a bunch of X’s and O’s.

Go check out that Hybrid Embossing Folder. The hearts pop out in an assortment of designs and you’ll have a gorgeous stack to play with in a heartbeat. Throw in a package of Country Lace DSP while you’re at it – it goes with absolutely everything. And don’t forget – Sale-a-bration runs through February 28th. Get your free stuff cuz you deserve it.

SLICE AND SLIDE FUN FOLD: FRUIT SALAD

Fruit Salad Designer Series Paper has the perfect set of patterns for this clever fun fold card. You’ll have so much fun mixing and matching designs!

  • Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Everyday Greetings, Greetings of the Season
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Coastal Cabana, Old Olive, Pecan Pie
  • Accessories: Fruit Salad Designer Series paper (SAB ’25), Paper Trimmer, Water Painter, 24-26 In Color Shimmer Gems, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I love the leaves from Spotlight on Nature. They’re elegant enough to stand alone, but they are subtle enough to work as a background. I used a Water Painter to blur the ink a bit after I stamped them.

This card is a direct CASE from one of Rachel Tessman’s Mystery Stamping events. Follow the link for detailed instructions, but the basic concept is to measure halfway down the right side of the front panel of the card and cut a diagonal piece to the lower left corner. That piece is rotated up the left side of the card, forming an asymetrical card front. Measure coordinating pieces of Designer Series Paper (Fruit Salad, in this case) to layer the card front and the rotated piece. Add a sentiment panel over the assembled card front and embellish.

These are absolutely addictive to make! The possibilities are endless, and the DSP is the star of the show. I may or may not have a somewhat excessive collection of DSP that needs to be used ASAP, and I’ve been slicing and sliding for a few days.

Rachel has very detailed instructions, so head over to her post if you need more specifics. If you need DSP, (come ON, you know you do), shop the Online Store. Be sure you take a good look at Fruit Salad, available for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration 2025.

DELIGHTFUL WISHES ON GINGHAM VELLUM

You have to see this coordinating Specialty Vellum DSP in real life to truly appreciate it. The colors are luminous, and it’s a perfect compliment to the Floral Delight Suite. It’s on my “replenish asap” list!

  • Stamps: Delightful Wishes, Elements of Text, Ice Cream Swirl
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pecan Pie
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Greetings of the Season dies, Floral and Gingham Vellum Specialty DSP, Stampin’ Write marker, Party Dots, 3 Color Bakers Twine Pack, Masking Paper, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I masked the flower spray before I stamped the script text from Elements of Text (love love love!!!). It took me a little bit of experimenting to align the flowers and the stem, and since I designed this card as a club group project, I made a “cheat sheet”. Putting numbered dots on the block helped to sequence the images and find the top each time!

The Floral Delight Suite is a beauty, but it’s low inventory right now, so don’t wait to order it. You’ll earn credits towards your favorite Sale-a-bration choices when you add it to your cart – what’s not to love?

WINTERLY TREETOPS: CASE THE MAUI STAMPER

Do you have bits and pieces of old projects hanging around? I’m at the point where I’m worried they will organize against me because they’re so neglected.

Last week, I combined elements from two projects to create this CASE (Copy And Share with Everyone):

  • Stamps: Keeping Tabs
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Winterly Treetops dies, Winterly Treetops DSP, Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder, Country Woods DSP, Nature’s Sweetness Specialty DSP, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, retired ribbon and punch

That’s the original – you can see I kept the card base, embossed panel, and specialty DSP. I didn’t die cut the Country Woods DSP with the Changing Leaves die, I changed up the ribbon and sentiment, and I added die cut birds from Winterly Treetops (I had a bag of them hanging around).

This CASE is much more colorful. These birdies were die cut from the DSP, so there is no fancy coloring involved here. I made a bunch of these with all of my leftovers!

What do you have hanging around? I confess it was very gratifying to pull all of these elements together, and I even used up some of the retired ribbon that seems to accumulate like lost socks in my craft room. Need something to finish a project? Shop HERE.

Would you like to make your own DIY Calendars? The template is just $5 – let me know that’s what you want and I’ll send you an invoice. Please tell me you’re a real being in the message box – I’m getting increasing amounts of spam. Everything is done digitally, so you’ll have it quickly.

DELIGHTFUL WISHES WITH FERN 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER

Take a look at that beautiful vellum paper! It’s part of the Floral Delight Suite, and it is truly delightful. The whole suite is absolutely charming.

  • Stamps: Delightful Wishes
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Garden Green
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Delightful Wishes dies, Fern 3D Embossing Folder, 1/8″ Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I’m gonna get real here: I have no idea if those flowers are layered the way they’re supposed to be. I tried Plan A, Plan B, Plan C-D-E-F-G and finally just said “This is good!”

But that’s what I love about making a card. You get to decide. You create it as you see it.

If I was to give this card to someone and that person were to say “I’m not sure those flowers are lined up right” well, let’s just say that might be the last card they would get from me. Right?

This entire gorgeous suite is in the January-April 2025 mini catalog as well as the Online Store. (The Suite is currently unavailable, waiting the return of the ribbon. It’s expected on February 3, but you can purchase all the other elements of the suite right now.)

The embossing folder isn’t part of the suite, it’s an old friend that is still available, so pick it up while you still can. And be sure to check out the options for Sale-a-bration 2025 😉

FRUIT SALAD WITH YOU IN MIND

Have you seen the Fruit Salad Designer Series Paper available during Sale-a-bration 2025? You’ll want to snap up these bold, colorful designs – they make your projects sparkle!

  • Stamps: With You in Mind
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Something Fancy dies, Daffodil Delight 1/8″ Satin Ribbon, Iridescent Adhesive Back Discs, Stampin’ Dimensionals

To create the layout, I cut a piece of DSP to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, then measured 1″ from the top right and bottom left corners and cut on the diagonal.

I flipped over the piece on the right (thank you, Stampin’ Up! for giving us such perfect complimentary designs). A small rectangle from the scraps fills in that space, and the sentiment goes on top.

A little bit of ribbon, some sparkly dots, and this card is done! It’s an easy card to do in batches when you need a stack of birthday or thank you cards, and With You In Mind has both sentiments that fit perfectly on the label. This is a great card for beginners too. I wouldn’t wait to place an order to get the Fruit Salad DSP because supplies are limited. Get yours ASAP.

CHANGING LEAVES, TIMELESS PLAID

January is traditionally a time for change, but I think it’s also a good time to return to my anchors. I love this Timeless Plaid DSP from the January – April 2025 mini precisely for its classic design. The colors are updated, but the patterns are truly timeless.

  • Stamps: Everyday Greetings, Greetings of the Season
  • Color Palette: Very Vanilla, Boho Blue, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: Timeless Plaid DSP, Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Changing Leaves dies, Greetings of the Seasons dies, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope the Greetings of the Season dies stick around for a long time, because they give me a spot to anchor my BELOVED Linen Thread instead of using a Glue Dot.

Timeless Plaid is a January – April 2025 Mini Catalog product, part of the Storybook Moments Suite. The color palette includes Basic Beige, Boho Blue, Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pebbled Path, Pecan Pie, and Wild Wheat. Add a package to your order and take a creative journey!

PICK A SEASON: SAB 25

Sale-a-bration 2025 is just around the corner, and you’ll love all the options! Pick A Season is one of my favorites – I do love my plants 💕

  • Stamps: Pick a Season (SAB 25), Everyday Greetings
  • Color Palette: Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Mellow Moss, Pecan Pie
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, Paper Snips, Bakers Twine 3 color pack, Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals

There’s a bit of fussy, cutting here, but *most* of it is easy. The sentiment takes a little patience, but shucks, it’s the new year, and patience is a virtue, right? RIGHT??

Sale-a-bration begins January 7th, so make your list ready and get ready to shop! Pick A Season is free with your qualifying purchase.

DIY CALENDAR BLOG HOP: JANUARY 2025

It’s a new year, and we have new things in store for you! I’m delighted to have two new crafters joining us, and I think you’ll love what they have to offer. Sharon Bukert of As the Ink Dries is a seasoned Stampin’ Up! demonstrator with an expert eye for design and color. Malia Webb of Crafted by Malia is a relatively new demonstrator who has grown up in the business. She’s the daughter of Cheryl Hamilton, who you know as Create with Cheryl, and it’s a thrill to have two generations of crafters on this blog hop! Crystal Kondo is taking a break for family reasons.

Welcome to 2025, welcome to the blog hop, and welcome to all of our new friends! I’ve chosen an almost-available new stamp set from the January-April 2025 Mini Catalog for this month: introducing Terrific Toadstools:

  • Stamps: Terrific Toadstools (available January 7), Seaside Wishes
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: DIY Calendar template, Paper Snips, Brushed Brass Butterflies

I wanted the largest Toadstool to be Poppy Parade, but the inside needed to be a neutral. I had a minor stroke of genius, if I do say so myself: I stamped the image on the calendar in Crumb Cake (stamped off), then stamped it again in Poppy Parade on a scrap. I cut out the middle and adhered it with “green glue”.

The little dits are from Seaside Wishes -I thought there needed to be some magic in the air.

Click on the button to cruise through the hop – you’re in for a treat!

2024 DIY Calendar Year in Review

It’s the last day of December, and it’s my tradition to review my DIY Easel Calendar month-by-month. Are you ready? Let’s start with JANUARY:

A handmade calendar page for January with the pink roses and green leaves

I started the year with Stippled Roses for January 1, 2024. This particular image is really easy to color because of the shading marks in the stamps.

Painted Lavender was a carryover from last year, and the idea of fields of lavender seemed romantic for February. See the details in my post on February 1, 2024.

Tropical Leaf was a very early Online Exclusive, and it is tailor-made for a gardener-crafter like me. Check out the original post on March 1, 2024.

Planted Paradise was the perfect image to recreate the vibrant colors of the crotons in my garden, You can see them in this post for my April calendar

In May I stayed with a garden theme! I chose strawberries from Ice Cream Swirl. See the original post on May 1, 2024.

Time for a change – off to the ocean! Seaside Wishes has been a go-to stamp set all year. Read the details for this calendar page in June 1, 2024.

I featured the lemon with its blossoms from Citrus Blooms for July in honor of my own dwarf Meyer Lemon. You can see the details on July 1, 2024.

In August, I chose warm tones and the flowers and butterfly from Spotlight on Nature. You can see it all HERE.

Bee My Valentine is a year-round stamp set! Look at this adorable pollinators featured in my September 1, 2024 post.

These gorgeous blooms are from Regal Flora, which sadly moved to the Last Chance list at the beginning of December. You can see the original post on October 1, 2024.

Happy Hibiscus is a KEEPER! It’s an Online Exclusive that I hope will be around for a long time. Learn more in the November 1, 2024 post.

Every year it comes sooner! Whoosh, it’s December! It feels as though Stampin’ Up! really met us in the tropics in 2024. You can see this post from the beginning of this month HERE.

And 2024 is a wrap! I hope you’ve enjoyed this review. Comment on this post and share which month is your favorite. You can pick more than one – clearly, I can’t decide, so I won’t ask you to! I create my calendars month by month so that I can use the newest product. However, in review you’ll notice that many of these products are now retired. And tomorrow we begin a new month, a new year, and an exciting surprise with a new DIY Blog Tour! Make sure you pop in for a look.

If you feel inspired, you can create your own calendar for 2025. The 2025 DIY Template is just $5 and you may use it to make as many calendars as you like. It includes a page of covers, 12 monthly calendar blocks (4 to a page), and a set of cutting instructions. The blocks are designed to be cut to 3 1/2″ square. Please be patient if you order in the next couple of days – it’s a busy time.

Contact me to make your payment – I use Square to invoice, and you don’t need an account to use it. Be sure to leave a message in the comments space so I know you’re a real person and not spam.

Thanks for following the Maui Stamper and sharing in my crafting journey. Tomorrow starts a New Year, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you. Aloha 🌺
