SPOTLIGHT ON NATURE: A GIFT

A member of one of my clubs brings a card she made for all of us every month. I look forward to seeing what she makes, and she makes one for each of us. It’s such a generous thing to do 💕

  • Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Elements of Text
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Basic Black, unidentified green tone card stock.
  • Accessories: not sure!!

Don’t you love the Elements of Text stamp set? It’s absolutely perfect for this card. I love that one of the images is circular: it coordinates perfectly with the Spotlight on Nature image.

Thanks for the card, B! If you haven’t added Elements of Text of Spotlight on Nature to your crafty stash, maybe it’s time to shop the Online Store. There’s still time to shop Sale-a-bration.

SEAGULL FRIENDS: Connie Babbert CASE

Today’s card is a pretty close CASE of Connie Babbert’s card. My purpose was to recreate it without having to fussy cut all 3 of those seagulls 🤣. I fussy cut one for Wednesday’s card, and that was plenty!

  • Stamps: Friendly Seagulls (SAB 2025)
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Memento Black, Wild Wheat, Smoky Slate, Azure Afternoon
  • Accessories: Stripes & Florals Mix & Match Cards & Envelopes, Stampin’ Blends, Linen Thread, Country Woods DSP, Masking Paper, Blending Brushes, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Don’t miss the Stripes & Florals Mix & Match Cards & Envelopes from the January – April 2025 Mini Catalog – they’re beautiful and they add a polished look to your projects. You’ll thank yourself, trust me.

Time is running out to add these Sassy Seagulls to your crafty bag o’ tricks! (the birds, bubbles and fishies are all from this same set). Grab some coordinated cards and envelopes and a pack of DSP and add the Friendly Seagulls to your order for FREE in the Online Store.

FRIENDLY SEAGULLS: THANKS

I grew up in Santa Barbara, California, and seagulls were the bird-soundtrack of our beach days. Their noisy calls and antics are a big part of my memory, and I still love to watch the rascals when I visit home. Needless to say, Friendly Seagulls (SAB 2025) was a must.

  • Stamps: Friendly Seagulls (SAB 25)
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Memento Black, Wild Wheat, Poppy Parade, Gray Granite
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Perennial Postage dies, Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, Mini Alphabet dies, Wild Wheat Jute Twine, Toadstool Garden DSP (SAB 25), Stampin’ Dimensionals

The Mini Alphabet dies are the BEST!!! One crank of the Stamp Cut Emboss Machine and you have all the letters PLUS extras of the ones you use the most. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

If you live anywhere near seagull habitat, you need these stamps. If you vacation near seagull habitat, you also need these stamps. If you just like a lot of sass and attitude, well, you can guess what I’m gonna say. See them in the Online Store. But don’t wait too long – Sale-a-bration is winding down! You’ve got until February 28th.

CORNER IN BLOOM: BEAUTIFUL BEGINNINGS

Today’s Corner in Bloom is a square card, a format I don’t often use because it requires a special envelope and extra postage. But this card just begged to be a square, and I couldn’t say no. (Please don’t judge me for talking to my projects.)

  • Stamps: Corner in Bloom (SAB 25), Something Fancy
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Memento Black, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Granny Apple Green
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Stylish Shapes dies, Fern 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Blends, Low-profile dots, Gold Open Weave trim, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Corner Rounder (retired)

As much as these flowers needed Daffodil Delight, that color was too much as the mat behind the colored image. I chose Lemon Lolly instead, and it’s surprising how much difference a small adjustment like that makes.

This layout is super simple – really just a bunch of stacked squares – but it makes great use of these beautiful corner stamps. Shop the Online Store for your own Corner In Bloom.

A MAGICAL TERRIFIC TOADSTOOL

Today’s Toadstool Magic has a lot more white space. The Fern 3D Embossing Folder adds a woodsy feeling and a little texture to this simple layout.

  • Stamps: Terrific Toadstools
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Fresh Freesia, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Melon Mambo
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Stylish Shapes dies, Toadstool Builder Punch, DSP Color Family Packs, 24-26 In Color Shimmer Gems, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I was wasting time doing research online looking for card sketches and came across this one. Don’t know why it tickled my fancy, but it did – thank you, Tina!

Where do you stand on Terrific Toadstools? I confess I love these bright colors, but I recently spotted some talented crafters (more research, you know) working in neutrals and I’m going to give that a try, In the meantime, you can shop the Online Store for these beautiful, vivid tones. Thanks for stopping by!

SLICE AND SLIDE FUN FOLD: TERRIFIC TOADSTOOLS

Here’s another Slice and Slide card featuring the Terrific Toadstools stamps and the coordinating Designer Series Paper available during Sale-a-bration 2025:

  • Stamps: Terrific Toadstools, Seaside Wishes
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate
  • Accessories: Toadstool Builder Punch, Toadstool Gardens DSP (SAB 2025), Stampin’ Dimensionals

Seaside Wishes has the Goldilocks “dits”: not too big, not too small, but juuuuuust right.

This fund fold looks a lot more complicated than it is. There’s more information HERE.

Toadstool Gardens 6×6″ Designer Series paper is only available during Sale-a-bration 2025, and if it runs out, that’s the end of that story. SEASIDE WISHES for FRIENDS

Do you keep every stamp set and bundle, or do you let go of older stamp sets? As a demonstrator, I try to work with only current products, but there are a few that go into my “forevah” box. I’ll always have Seaside Wishes.

  • Stamps: Seaside Wishes, Heartfelt Hexagon (retired)
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Basic Beige, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Seaside Wishes dies and Hybrid Embossing Folder, Heartfelt Hexagon punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, a very old set of card bases with matching envelopes

I made these a month or so ago, and the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set has retired. The punch is still available, and I love this shape. It’s different enough to be interesting without being weird. It makes great interlocking designs, too. You can see one HERE.

This set of printed card bases and envelopes has been languishing in my supply cabinet for a very long time. There are current options in the Online Store.

Seaside Wishes comes in a money saving bundle and includes a Hybrid Embossing Folder. Shop for it in the Online Store.

SPOTLIGHT ON NATURE: WHITE EMBOSSING

One of the Maui Stamper team members shared this technique with me, and I was smitten. It’s simple to do and I love the pop of color it gives on top of Crumb Cake card stock! Thanks, Brigid. 💕

  • Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Changing Leaves
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Berry Burst
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Greetings of the Season dies, Deckle Rectangles dies, Exposed Brick Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy and Tray, Heat Tool, White Craft Ink, Stampin’ Write Markers, paintbrush, dauber, Linen Thread, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, Stampin’ Dimensionals

There’s a lot going on here, but none of it is hard. I embossed the Spotlight on Nature flower on Crumb Cake card stock with White Craft Ink and White Embossing Powder. To get the color to pop, I used a small brush to paint inside the flowers and leaves with White Craft Ink (I didn’t dilute it). Once that dried completely, I colored on top of the White Craft Ink with Stampin’ Write markers.

I am also quite smitten (it’s an excellent word, try it) with the Greetings of the Season dies. They have a little hole in the die so you can tie on your thread or ribbon. I love how clean that little hole is!!

Do you have our Embossing Kit? I’m telling you, it’s worth it just for the little screwed on stopper at the top. No more broken nails trying to get that stupid plug out! Treat yourself, and shop the Online Store.

Our kits are on sale through the end of October! Save up to 30% on everything from cards to Christmas ornaments.

STACK, SLICE & SHUFFLE PERENNIAL LAVENDER

This is a simple and fun technique that will help you dig into that stack of Designer Series Paper and turn it into pretty cards. You can keep them simple and let the paper do the talking, or you can embellish them to your heart’s content.

NOTE: These are supplies for all 3 cards 😁

  • Stamps: Perennial Lavender, Stippled Rose, Everyday Greetings, Greetings of the Season
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Crumb Cake, Gorgeous Grape
  • Accessories: Perennail Lavender DSP, Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Spotlight on Nature dies, Stippled Rose dies, Perennial Lavender dies, Perennial Postage dies, Something Fancy dies, 2 3/8″ circle punch, Linen Thread, Basic Beige Border Ribbon, Iridescent Ribbon, Glossy Dots, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The first step is to choose 3 patterns that you like seeing together. Cut a panel of each one – mine were 3 3/4” x 5” – and then stack them together. Cut them into 3 pieces – the shapes don’t matter, but I found that making a template to guide me was a help. (If you don’t have a trimmer that can cut through 3 pieces of DSP, the template helps you cut each on the same. Measure a starting point and mark each piece with the template, then cut them one at a time.)

Once your paper is cut, shuffle the pieces so that you have a mixture of papers on each card front. Because our DSP is two sided, you can even flip a set of papers over! Adhere them to a panel slightly larger than your original measurement (I used a 4” x 5 1/4” base) and then to a card front (I added an extra layer at 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”). Embellish away!

It’s LIVE! Check out the September – December mini catalog. You’re gonna love it!
