THE DSP STASH: FLORALS IN BLOOM

I’m still working on that DSP stash! This week it’s Florals in Bloom, paired with some Last Chance stamps and a fun fold from a few weeks back. I pulled out all the papers I’ve been hoarding from that package and went to work. Chop, Chop!!

  • Stamps: Charming Day, Corners in Bloom
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Petunia Pop, Fresh Freesia, Old Olive
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Deckle Circle dies (retired), Florals in Bloom DSP, bone folder, paintbrush, dauber, Stampin’ Write Markers, Stampin’ Dimensionals

This is the same fun fold I did with the Painterly Pears a month ago, except I used a round focal point instead of a rectangular one. I have a stack of Deckle Circles left over in Basic White, and I decided they were going to speed things along for me with this project. Do you cut multiples of your favorite shapes? It’s such a time-saver.

Here’s another version – almost the same, but a different DSP so a different color scheme. The Corner in Bloom stamps (from 2025 – Last Chance!) work perfectly with the Florals in Bloom DSP! And Florals in Bloom is on sale this month since it includes 25-27 In Colors. Win Win!

I pulled out the Perennial Lavender DSP and switched up the pattern layout. Not sure how I like the front with the deep Shaded Spruce panel, but I love the inside!

Last one – back to Florals in Bloom. You can see the little splatters on the Deckle Circle – I learned that tapping your inky paint brush with the bone folder instead of your finger gives a finer, broader distribution of splatters. I brushed the edges of the circles with a bit of ink, too, since I was too lazy to go find the dies and cut colored card stock mats.

Ready to cut up some DSP and set up your assembly line? If you need anything, you’ll surely find it in the Online Store. Chop Chop!!

USE UP THAT DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STASH!

If you’ve been crafting for a minute or two, you probably have a stash of Designer Series Paper (DSP). Maybe you bought the pack for one design that you loved and the rest has been untouched. Maybe you’ve used most of the pack but there are just a *few* sheets left. Or maybe you just bought too much and need to use it before you buy more. (Ugh, the truth can hurt.)

  • Stamps: Perfect Pears
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Textured Note dies, Painterly Pears DSP, Daubers, Blender Pen, Low Profile Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I am obsessed with coloring the pears with Daubers, and love that every time it’s just a bit different. I pulled the color palette from the DSP and added a bit of Mossy Meadow to the edge for a little drama. The sweet row of blossoms under the writing panel is stamped in Daffodil Delight and has a little center added with a Blender Pen.

If I may be so bold as to say it, if you don’t have the Textured Notes dies, Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $200, just click on ADD TO CART. (There. I feel better.)

My dear crafty buddy Sharon showed me this great fun fold. Score a standard 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ in the center (4 1/4″) and also 1 1/4″ from either end (that’s 1 1/4″ and 7 1/4″ if you need the exact numbers). It creates a perfect canvas for DSP.

Everything else is just cut-and-mat DSP! This is another quick and easy card to assemble, and it features my favorite “just enough room for I-Love-You” writing panel. Those Low Profile Dots are a great product for cards you intend to mail, too. I usually put a piece of card stock over the front of a card when I mail it, but it’s almost not necessary with these Dots.

The Perfectly Pears bundle is a great option to add color and variety to your crafty stash. There are flowers, sure, but they’re quite understated. It’s all about the pears – and of course, that gorgeous Painterly Pears DSP. Try it, you’ll like it.

FLORALS IN BLOOM DESIGNER SERIES PAPER TAKES THE STAGE

Cutting into beautiful Designer Series Papers (DSP) can be really hard to do. I have a stash of paper that I just can’t bear use precisely because it’s too beautiful to cut, and that’s a shame! I took my trimmer to the Florals in Bloom DSP and I’m so glad I did.

  • Stamps: Pretty Florals, Charming Day, Spring Corners
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Petunia Pop, Garden Green
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Pretty Florals dies, Spotlight on Nature dies, 2 3/8″ Circle punch, Stylish Shapes dies, 2, Florals in Bloom DSP, 24-26 In Color Shimmer gems (retired), Stampin’ Dimensionals

I was inspired by Lyssa Zwolanek at Embellish and CASED her project completely, although I chose a different set of designs from the DSP pack. This card is much easier than it looks, and it really highlights the beautiful designs and coordination of Stampin’ Up! DSP.

The card opens to reveal a narrow panel for your message. Personally, I love this kind of space. I often send birthday cards to friends I see regularly, because who doesn’t love a little happy mail with all the junk in their mailbox? But I don’t have news to share, just good wishes – so a small writing space suits me perfectly.

Once I started I needed to make more. I replicated Lyssa’s gorgeous card, then created a few more of my own. Color makes a big difference in a project! I can’t decide which of these two I prefer – what do you think?

If you’re looking for the Florals in Bloom DSP, it’s currently available. The Pretty Florals bundle is currently out of stock, but it’s expected the week of July 28th. Did you know you can request an email to notify you when a product comes back in stock? Just click “VIEW” when you find the item in the Online Store and add your email to be notified. Easy peasy!

IMPRESSIONS ABLOOM DOUBLE GATE FOLD

Do you like making Fun Fold cards? This one is super easy. Plus, if you follow my color choices, you’ll have a VERRRY GIRRLY card for that friend – you know the one – that LOVES pink!

  • Stamps: Impressions Abloom, Elements of Text
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Garden Green, Pretty in Pink, Strawberry Slush, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lolly
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Impressions Abloom dies, Textured Notes dies, Floral Impressions DSP, In Color DSP, Bordered Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The Textured Notes dies step up any project. Every size has a different design around the edge, but they all coordinate. They’re one of my absolute Go-To products.

Here are the basic dimensions for the gate fold:

  • Cut a card base to 5 1/2″ x 11″
  • Score at 2″, 3 3/4″, 7 1/4″ and 9″
  • Add DSP panels (with or without mats) to each side. This version uses mats that are 1/4″ smaller for length and width from the card base panel, and DSP that are another 1/4″ than the mat.

I adhered ribbon under the center panel. The panel itself is adhered with sticky strip to the left front panel and the ribbon wraps around the entire card.

LAST CHANCE; WINTERLY TREE TOPS

Welcome to my April Last Dance/Last Chance series! Here’s another beauty I’m sorry to see retire, because I have really enjoyed these birdies. I don’t know if there are any birds with this exact coloring in the wild, but I claim artistic license and I don’t care.

  • Stamps: Winterly Tree Tops
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Blueberry Bushel, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Wild Wheat
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Stylish Shapes dies, Timeless Plaid DSP, Stampin’ Blends, Linen Thread, Stampin’ Dimensionals

This square center panel is made with the Stylish Shapes dies, which are NOT on the Last Chance list (whew!!) It’s backed with a Wild Wheat panel, which IS Last Chance as it’s a retiring 23-25 In Color. You know, when I first saw Wild Wheat I had some rather *ahem* uncharitable thoughts about the color, but once I started pairing it with other colors I became a fan. I especially love it with blue, black and grey tones.

The double gate fold is a lot simpler than it looks. Score a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of card stock at 2″, 3 3/4″, 7 1/4″ and 9″ to create the side panels. Once you’ve embellished the side panels, add a focal point of almost any shape to one side and you’re done!

At this writing, the Winterly Tree Tops stamps have sold out, but the dies are still available. And of course, Stylish Shapes has its hand in the air saying “choose me, choose me!!” Visit the Online Store and see the updated Last Chance List.

DOUBLE POINT CARD: HAPPY HIBISCUS

When I started the Winterly Treetop Double Point card, I made two sets of the DSP. The second set sat around until I decided to try it with the Happy Hibiscus.

  • Stamps: Happy Hibiscus
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Blueberry Bushel, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Happy Hibiscus dies and Hybrid Embossing Folder, Spotlight on Nature dies, Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins, Stampin’ Blends, Natural Tones Linen Thread, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I chose a different die from Spotlight on Nature. I doubled up the gorgeous Natural Tones Linen thread for a simple bow, and added a few shiny sequins for sparkle. And I really, really love the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing Folder. 💛

I left the interior of this one black too. When it’s time to add the sentiment, I’ll pencil a couple of marks with the interior panel in place so my sentiment falls behind the focal point.

What do you think? Does this one work? It’s a lot of white, but seriously, have you ever seen a blue hibiscus? I’ve seen lavender, but not blue.

Either way, you can shop for supplies in the Online Store.

DOUBLE POINT CARD: WINTERLY TREETOPS

I came across the Winterly Meadow Designer Series Paper in my craft room the other day and started to play. The card design is called Double Point, and it’s apparently been around for a while – but it’s new to me! It’s a perfect way to use our beautiful paper.

  • Stamps: Winterly Treetops, Elements of Text
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Memento Black, Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Wild Wheat, Blueberry Bushel, Shaded Spruce, Pretty Peacock
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Winterly Treetop dies, Spotlight on Nature dies, Stampin’ Blends, Iridescent 1/2″ trim, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I colored this birdie with Blends to make sure there was a perfect match with the DSP. I might have gotten a little silly with the Iridescent trim – I sliced it up into little strips. Can you use your imagination? Does it look just a little bit like a nest? Humor me.

The interior panel slides right out. I’ll add a sentiment in the center when I decide to send the card. I often leave off a sentiment if it’s easy to add at the last minute to give myself options.

I’m wondering if it’s worthwhile to make a tutorial for this card. I’m away from my craft desk for a few more days, but if you’re interested, leave a comment. In the meantime, you can shop for supplies in the Online Store.

ATTENTION SHOPPERS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I’ve had a LOT of fun with Attention Shoppers, and I haven’t even touched the shopping cart yet! I love the images of things to put INTO the cart (the sign of a true shopper, I guess).

  • Stamps: Attention Shoppers
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Memento Black
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Attention Shoppers dies, Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder, Bakers Twine 3 Color Pack, Stampin’ Blends, Country Lace DSP, Stampin’ Dimensionals

This is one of my favorite fun folds. It’s called Z-Fold, and it’s easy to customize. You begin with a card stock base measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score it at 5 1/2″. Score again at 2 3/4″ and fold that scored portion back so the card base makes a “Z” figure. Adhere a panel (this is a 3″ x 4″ rectangle but almost any shape will work) to the front portion (that you’ve folded back) and you’re ready to embellish.

The cakes are colored with Stampin’ Blends, and they’re popped up on Dimensionals. I used the Flirty Flamingo Bakers Twine from the Three Color Pack around that front panel. A layer behind the front panel is embossed with the Dotted Circles EF to coordinate with the circles in the DSP.

WALK IN THE FOREST TRIFOLD v2

I loved this layout so much I made quite a few versions. The fun thing about this one is that it uses the same Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper as the one I shared on November 15 but the color palette is quite different.

  • Stamps: Merriest Trees
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Pretty Peacock
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Basics 3D Embossing Folder, Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper, Heat Tool, White Craft Ink, White Embossing Powder, Tear’n’Tape (aka TNT)

This is such a quick card because of the way the pieces are cut. Check the Walk in the Forest Triple Fold post for dimensions – you still have time to create a stack of these!

If I were making this again, I would heat emboss the sentiment on the front panel and skip the little snowflakes. Then I could use the panel on the back for a quick message. You could also use the back of the white base panel to write a longer message, or even adhere a printed message if that’s how you roll!

Using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper for this card takes all the guess-work out of matching. Selections from the September – December mini catalog are quickly selling out, so you’d best be quick to stock up! If you’re like me, even if you miss out on this one, you have a leeeetle stash of holiday papers in your craft room, and surely something will do the jobl

Walk in the Forest Triple Fold

One of the very best things about Stampin’ Up! events is swapping with other demonstrators. I came home from Backstage in August with stacks of great cards, but this design stood out. I switched it up with the Walk in the Forest Designer Series paper and loved the result:

  • Stamps: Joy of Noel
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Pretty Peacock, Memento Black
  • Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Merry Melody Embossing Folder, Walk in the Forest DSP, Stampin’ Blends

Pat Ertman shared a beautiful card with this tri-fold design, and I had a lot of fun with it. Pat’s design uses strips of DSP that are 4″ tall, so it makes great use of the paper. You can use scraps, or you can cut the 12″ paper into the widths you need and then snip into 4″ lengths.

The first piece of DSP is 3/4″ wide, the second two are 1 3/4″ wide, and the final piece is 2 3/4″ wide. The white folding panel is 4 1/4″ tall and 9″ wide, scored at 1″, 2″, 4″ and 6″. The white base is 4 1/4″ and the Cherry Cobbler embossed panel is 4″ x 5 1/4″.

I love this image from the Joy of Noel stamps. I used it for my November DIY Calendar, and I’ll use it again! Joy of Noel and Walk in the Forest are on the Last Chance list, so shop the Online Store soon!

There’s a lot going on, and to keep things interesting, the Last Chance list just dropped! To see items Carrying Over, click HERE. To see Last Chance items from the September-December mini, click HERE. Discounts begin November 21st.
