Maui Stamper $25 Stampin' Up! Joining Offer Oct 7 to 21 2013

Shorebirds

I’m not an official “birder”, but I am certainly a bird lover.

Maui Stamper Wetlands Birds handmade cardThe Wetlands stamp set jumped off the page at me the first time I looked through the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! annual catalog, but I was amazingly disciplined and waited to buy it.  Last week, the wait was over!

Maui Stamper Wetlands Birds handmade card

  • Wetlands stamp set
  • Naturals White, Island Indigo and Crumb Cake card stock
  • Basic Grey, Island Indigo, Pool Party and Crumb Cake FFIP
  • Pearls
  • Island Indigo Baker’s Twine
  • The Big Shot and the Oval Framelits
  • Stampin’ Sponges

I cut an oval mask using the Framelits collection and sponged ocean and sand colors onto Naturals White card stock.  I mean, it’s a scene from NATURE, doesn’t it seem NATURAL to use Naturals White??  My real intention was to take advantage of the texture of the card stock, both the physical texture and the little color “dits” (that’s what I call ’em, ok?) in the paper.

There’s a LOT going on in the Stampin’ Up! world right now – an extra $25 in hostess benefits, special one-week discounts in the Online Store, new stamps, and of course the opportunity to become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for only $25!  Check out the deals!

Maui Stamper $25 Stampin' Up! Joining Offer Oct 7 to 21 2013

Do you ever wonder “What if…?”

Don’t let this be one of those “What if I had only…” situations.  Join the Stampin’ Up! family – for just $25.

Maui Stamper $25 Stampin' Up! Joining Offer Oct 7 to 21 2013There has never been a $25 joining offer, and this one is being offered for just two weeks.  From October 7 to 21, it’s just $25 –  no shipping – for this special, 25th anniversary opportunity.

“What if…” is how my husband and I ended up in Hawaii 23 1/2 years ago.  We were living in Northern California when he was offered a two year assignment on Maui.  I was pregnant, home with a toddler, and the challenges seemed enormous.  But we asked ourselves “What if we don’t do this?  Won’t we spend the rest of our lives wondering what it would have been like to live on Maui for two years?”  (The 23 1/2 part is another story for another day.)

Don’t let the Stampin’ Up! opportunity be that thing you wonder about for the rest of your life.  Give it a try – there is absolutely no obligation.  Sign up for $25, keep your product (special kit value $26.95) and see what it’s all about.  If you decide it’s not for you, you can drop with no consequences at all.  I’ll still love you 🙂  But if you get a peek at the demonstrator website and fall in love, or if you can’t resist that 20% minimum discount, then maybe you’ll stay.  Whether or not it’s for 23-plus years is really up to you.  Visit my Online Store for more details – click on “Join the Fun” at the far right hand side of the Tangerine Tango banner across the top.  And of course, contact me if you have questions.

If you’ve read this far you certainly deserve a card!

Maui Stamper Forever and Always This N ThatThis COULD be a wedding card, although it was not.  It was for friends who participated in a marriage enrichment weekend and we wanted them to know we were thinking of them.

Maui Stamper Forever and Always This N ThatHard to see, but the Crumb Cake layer is attached to a Whisper White card base.  I also made a pair of notebooks to coordinate with the card:

Maui Stamper This n That NotebooksJust think…you could stock up on all the goodies you want at 20% off…preview the Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration promotion before they are released…and become part of a company that truly puts service first!  Don’t wonder “What if…”  – for $25, say “Why not?”  You’ll be glad you did.

Undefined

Ever wanted a totally unique stamp?  Meet Undefined.

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampYou can make any image you want.  You carve it yourself.

NOW STOP.  I know what you are saying.  “I’m not artistic”, you say.  “I can’t draw”, you say.  “It looks hard”, you say.

It’s just like when you began stamping and you weren’t sure if you were holding the stamp right, or if you had enough ink, or whether you had stamped with enough pressure.  You do it.  You learn.  Crystal and I did!

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampSee!  I’m smiling!  I’m calm!  This was taken BEFORE I threw firmly placed the cutting tool on the counter and said “THIS SUCKS.”  The wonderful SU staff member behind the counter did for me what I have done for countless customers.  She immediately came over and reassured me that I could do it and showed me how to hold the cutting tool.  Turns out I was holding it sideways.  Cutting with the cutting tool held sideways does suck.  Cutting with the cutting tool held correctly is awesome!  Here’s how it works:

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampStep One:  Sketch your design true to size in pencil, and go over the design so that there is plenty of graphite on your paper.

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampStep Two:  Transfer your image from the paper to the rubber by placing one against the other and rubbing firmly with your finger.

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampStep Three:  Cut out your design with the cutting tool.  It’s kinda hard to do this AND take a photo 🙂

Step Four:  Apply the self-adhesive foam to the back of the rubber and cut out the your shape.

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampStep Five:  When it’s all trimmed out, and before you adhere the rubber to the back of the wood block, ink up your image with Staz-On and stamp it on the front of the block.

Step Six:  Adhere the rubber to the back of the wood block.

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampStep Seven:  Stamp and ADMIRE!!

Don’t think you can come up with an original idea?  Each kit comes with multiple templates for you to begin with – just trace and carve.  Or you can use one of these ideas from The Home Office:

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampNotice that the letters are carved out, but the stamp doesn’t have to be too closely trimmed out around the outside.

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampI am SO going to make my own word bubble.  The kit is already ordered.

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! Undefined Carve Your Own StampThis is a BIG @ sign!  There are a variety of block sizes in the kit for you to play with.

Included in the Stamp Carving Kit #133402:

  • 2 carving tools
  • 3″ x 4″ rubber
  • 3″ x 4″ foam
  • 4 wood blocks (various sizes)
  • 1 Island Indigo Stampin’ Write Marker
  • 3 postcards
  • Instruction sheet
  • Stamp image templates

You can do this!  And you will be thrilled, I promise, with your very own custom-made stamp.  Visit my Online Store today!

Lovely new ribbon

Don’t tell, but I think I get more excited about new ribbon than new stamps.

Maui Stamper 2013-2014 In Color RibbonThis is our new In Color 2013-2015 STRETCHY ribbon.  And it can do so many things!  Take a look at the RemARKable blog tour post from this past weekend and you’ll see how nicely it makes a frame around an oval.

It would be perfect for hair ties or headbands too, if you were the sort of person who wore them.  (I only do when I am DESPERATELY in need of a haircut.)

There were five new colors introduced into existing ribbon collections, too:

Stampin' Up! Maui Stamper 2013-2014 New RibbonThat’s Bermuda Bay 1/8″ taffeta (be still my heart), Soft Sky Seam Binding, Pear Pizazz 3/8″ taffeta, Blushing Bride 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain and Melon Mambo 1/8″ taffeta.  What gorgeous new additions to our ribbon stable!!

Would you like to get your hands on some ribbon without having to invest in all those full-sized spools?  I’m offering ribbon shares so you can play at a savings!  Each share is one yard of either the 5 In Color ribbons or the 5 new-to-the-collection ribbons.  It’s $7 for the In Color share and only $4 for the assortment, so you certainly won’t break the bank.  I’m happy to ship and will charge you actual cost only for postage.

The gorgeous Chevron Ribbons are also on their way and will be $15 for a share of 12 beautiful new colors.  Let me know if you’d like a share!
