Yes, my friends, it’s true:  with the new 2013-2014 catalog, Stampin’ Up! will refresh the four color families!  Never fear, there are familiar names here, and Stampin’ Up! will continue to provide outstanding coordination between ink, paper and embellishment.

But you want details, I know!

With one exception, the “new” colors are familiar – they are In Colors from years past.  The exception is what promises to be a delicious new shade of grey called Smoky Slate!

I’m personally thrilled with these changes – the colors that are retiring are colors I have seldom used – with the notable exception of Baja Breeze.  The In Colors from years past that are becoming permanent include some of my absolute favorites – Pear Pizazz, Soft Sky, and the recent 2011-2013 colors of Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder (yay!), Pool Party (double yay!)  and Island Indigo.

Some remaining colors have changed color families – see if you can spot them!

Don’t you love getting a gift?  And if you’re anything like me, don’t you love getting a gift – in a cute package??

But cute packages take time, and planning, and lots of other things that are in short supply this time of year.  Fortunately, Stampin’ Up! has a solution:

These two collections are perfect to have on hand for that Sure-to-Delight package!  Order these at the Online Store.  I’m stocking up myself because 2012 has been the Year of the Airplane in the Maui Stamper Household, and there just isn’t enough time to do all the things on my list!

Our latest flight was to beautiful Sedona, where we spent time with my family.  My parents have invited us to join them at their timeshare for years, but this was the first time it was practical.  It was a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend that went by too quickly, but I’m so glad we went.  In addition to lots of great time with the family – and great food too – we had beautiful weather that was perfect for exploring.  The sky was amazingly clear and blue, and the sun was brilliant.  We watched a lot of planes fly high overhead, leaving beautiful trails in the sky:

The moon wasn’t quite full, but it was visible in the late afternoon sky; the red rocks, the scrubby vegetation, and that brilliant blue sky created such a stunning contrast:

We stopped for a late afternoon visit at the Chapel of the Holy Cross, pressed tightly into the cliffs:

The chapel interior is extremely simple but has a powerful grace:

And didn’t I do a fabulous job of color-coordination?  We hiked the Courthouse Butte Loop the afternoon before we flew home:

I had a great time at the craft fair – thanks to everyone who came, said hello, and especially to those of you who shopped!  Believe me – if I can make it, you can make it – and I can show you how!

Here’s one of my projects:

I was inspired by Pinterest (the Black Hole of the Internet, I am constantly getting lost here).  I used My Digital Studio to design the message, then printed the sheet and cut each one out with framelits and embellished!  The whisks are filled with individually packaged cookies and slipped into our Gusseted bags (found iin the Holiday Catalog) – they’re a perfect fit!  I did a set in reds and greens, too:

The 2012 Retiring Accessories List has POSTED!

Stampin' Up! Retiring Accessories List

WOW!!!

I’ve just finished going over the Retired Accessories list – it is 12 (TWELVE!!) pages long!!  The first 2 ½ pages are discounted items and discounts are as deep as 70%.  There is a separate list for Décor Elements if you are interested.

The items on this list are available while supplies last and I will not be surprised if there are already items sold out by the end of the day (or even before!) on Wednesday.  If you want anything, go to my Online Store and order it directly – the sooner the better.

A few comments:

  • Stampin’ Up! has announced that Classic Ink pads are being redesigned.  You will notice all colors of Classic ink are retiring but are not discounted.  The new design includes a different type of pad that promises a better image – exciting news!!
  • Craft Ink pads will only be available in Basic Black and Whisper White.  Stock up on your Craft Ink Refills!
  •  2010-2012 In Color products are all retiring.  The Stampin’ Write marker set, 12 x 12 smooth card stock and 12 x 12 textured card stock are discounted.  So are some of the Stitched-poly ribbons.  All other products from the 2010-2012 In Color line are discontinued (Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Concord Crush and Blushing Bride).  If you have ink pads and don’t have refills, I recommend buying them.  If you waited to get the markers, wait no longer.  If you’re low on paper, buy now!
  •  12 x 12 TEXTURED card stock is retiring and will no longer be available.  12 x 12 SMOOTH card stock will only be available in select individual colors and in color family collections.
  •  Only select Stampin’ Write markers will be available for purchase individually.  Those markers not available individually will only be sold as part of a color family set.  Stock up on your favorites!!
  •  A lot of Big Shot items are being retired but most are not discounted.
  •  Are you a fan of MDS?  The MDS Collection DVDs found on page 7 of the Idea Book and Catalog are all discounted 60%.
