A wreath for all seasons

I love this wreath – it’s so versatile:

This goes together more quickly than you would think, and I love the layers of texture. The Pool Party layer is embossed with the Perfect Polka dots TIEF that echos the gold embossed berries on the wreath.

The gold Bakers Twine is just pressed into a glue dot on either end, then pressed onto the back of the wreath and the Gold Glimmer heart. Quick, I tell you!

And as you can see, it’s possible to just stamp that wreath all willy-nilly and have it come out ok. At least in my eyes {wink}

DID YOU NOTICE THE STRAW? Please scroll back up and look at my straw because I am very proud of it. For one thing, it was a tricky bugger to cut out. (You really need the Stampin’ Up! paper snips to do the job.) Not only is the straw cut out, it has stripes, and they are amazing, wouldn’t you say? They were such fun to do.

I CASEd this design from Dawn Olchefske. She used a very bold color combination that really popped, but I wanted something different for Sara and chose this monochromatic scheme. I love the combination of Canteloupe and Coral! This year’s In Color selections really work well with the existing colors, and yes, you do need them all! Besides, you can buy the ink pads in a bundle and Stampin’ Up! throws in the paper assortment for free! Those crazy jeans

Those crazy jeans from the Patterned Occasions SAB stamp set have me cracking up!

How cute is this? Did you notice that jeans ribbon on the top – YES it is Stampin’ Up! ribbon!! I needed a “gender-neutral” favor and jeans were the answer. The background on the Milk Carton is the new Beyond Plaid set from the Spring catalog and it was easy to stamp on each panel. I didn’t bother lining it up and I don’t think it matters.

The little bit of embossing on the top was a last minute whim. I just folded the milk carton in half and put the top portion in the embossing folder and zipped it through the Big Shot. The milk carton is the perfect size for small individual candies like M&M’s or jelly beans, but it also holds bigger things like the fun size bars or Hershey Kisses.

Confession: I finally bought the Milk Carton die for myself. I kept borrowing it when I needed it but it was time to grow up and get my own. Can’t believe I waited so long.

Crystal had back surgery last week, and on Saturday Cheryl and I stopped by to visit:

It would be lovely if I would focus on my subject now, wouldn’t it? She had a room full of visitors so we didn’t stay for long. She also has the cutest 2 year old boy on the face of the earth, so I hope she will get some good rest in the hospital, because things at home are going to be busy.

Don’t know what posessed me to use these colors together but I am surprisingly happy with the combination!

Crystal had me cracking up on Friday afternoon when she texted me from the hospital. They wouldn’t let her have any water yet – something about not having to do the surgery over, I don’t know – and she was trying to get everyone she knew to bring her water. She texted me “I will give you ALL my stamps for water.”

You know that’s desperate. It’s also heavily medicated – she was on some big-time pain-killers – so I didn’t take her any water. Besides, there was that things about having to do the surgery over. Hmmm…no.

Can’t wait til she’s well enough to stamp again!
