Color Palette: Basic White, Shaded Spruce, Real Red,Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Traditional Wreath Embossing Folder, daubers, Circle Punches, Gold Stripe 3/8″ ribbon, Stampin’ Blends, retired red gems, Stampin’ Dimensionals
The easiest way I’ve found to add color to this wreath is to use daubers. Brush lightly and the raised images pick up the color, keeping the texture of the embossing. I colored the berries with Real Red Stampin’ Blends, and a few of them have a few sparkly gems from eons ago.
I love that this wreath isn’t so distinctively “holiday”. You could easily use it year around in other color combinations (stay tuned!) This is a 6″ square embossing folder. The entire wreath doesn’t fit on a traditional card front, but it works well as a partial panel.
The Seasonal Tags are a bit of a sleeper, so don’t let them pass you by. You’ll reach for them again and again!

One of the very best things about Stampin’ Up! events is swapping with other demonstrators. I came home from Backstage in August with stacks of great cards, but this design stood out. I switched it up with the Walk in the Forest Designer Series paper and loved the result:
Stamps: Joy of Noel
Color Palette: Basic White, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Pretty Peacock, Memento Black
Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Merry Melody Embossing Folder, Walk in the Forest DSP, Stampin’ Blends
Pat Ertman shared a beautiful card with this tri-fold design, and I had a lot of fun with it. Pat’s design uses strips of DSP that are 4″ tall, so it makes great use of the paper. You can use scraps, or you can cut the 12″ paper into the widths you need and then snip into 4″ lengths.
The first piece of DSP is 3/4″ wide, the second two are 1 3/4″ wide, and the final piece is 2 3/4″ wide. The white folding panel is 4 1/4″ tall and 9″ wide, scored at 1″, 2″, 4″ and 6″. The white base is 4 1/4″ and the Cherry Cobbler embossed panel is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
I love this image from the Joy of Noel stamps. I used it for my November DIY Calendar, and I’ll use it again! Joy of Noel and Walk in the Forest are on the Last Chance list, so shop the Online Store soon!

Color & Contour just keeps coming back to my desktop. The floral images are so appealing and the sentiments are right on target – and in such a great combination of fonts. I love such versatile stamp sets!
Stamps: Color & Contour
Color Palette: Poppy Parade, Mint Macaron, Bumblebee, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Stampin Blends, Big Boss, Scallop Contour Dies, Pattern Party DSP (Host), Dimensionals
I find so much inspiration in the work of other crafters. Chris Smith created THIS gorgeous card for a SplitCoast Color Challenge, and the only real adjustment I made was to change out the flowers to these beauties from Color & Contour.
The Pattern Party Designer Series Paper is my Go-To these days! One side is printed in color, the reverse is in black and white, and every sheet is gorgeous. It’s available as a Host Reward with a qualifying workshop.

Don’t put any money on this yet, but I think Hand Penned Petals may be my favorite set from the 21-22 Annual Catalog. I love the images, and what’s more, they are REALLY fun to color with Stampin’ Blends.
Stamps: Hand Penned Petals
Color Palette: Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Shaded Spruce, Black
Accessories: Stampin’ Blends, Big Boss, Penned Flowers dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Multi-Purpose Glue, Paper Snips, Blending Brushes
Because this image doesn’t quite fill the space, I was looking for something subtle to add behind it. I tried various leaves and backgrounds, but even when I used a very light hand it felt like too much. The moment I realized this was a perfect job for Blending Brushes, I knew I’d found what I needed.
I did a bit of fussy cutting and layered the flowers and leaves. It’s absolutely not necessary as this image stands on its own very well, but I was in a moooood.

I guess you’re either a cat person or you’re not – and I am a cat person. When I saw Clever Cats in the mini catalog (available TODAY!) I put it at the top of my list. The set has a Halloween theme, but I had other plans:
Stamps: Clever Cats, Free as a Bird
Color Palette: Basic Black, Basic White, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
This captures cats so well – in the box, no matter what. The shreddies were a bit of a wild inspiration as I looked at the image of the cat and the box, and as luck would have it, I had the right color on hand. Some things are meant to be.
The Stamparatus is an enormous help in getting a clear, even impression from this bold image. I used a number of colors, but Memento Black was clearly the winner in my mind. It took a 3 impressions for me to be satisfied with Memento Black, but only 2 with Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink. But regardless of the number, the Stamparatus creates a perfect image – and re-image – every time!
I put a 1/4″ strip of DSP across the bottom of the panel on the inside of the card, and I added a sentiment from the now-retired Ridiculously Awesome stamp set. I created this card with the colours of Colour INKspiration #104 in mind.
The Mini Catalog is now live in the Online Store, and Clever Cats can be yours with a couple of clicks. We’re celebrating Sale-a-bration V.2 in August and September, so you’ll choose free gifts with your $50 or $100 purchase. Shop HERE.
Here’s one last peek at the Sassy Snailed It snails! It’s a snail parade, celebrating great accomplishments – I’ve die cut and colored this lineup with Stampin’ Blends. I have LOVED this stamp set, and I’ll be sorry to see it retire in just a couple of weeks.
Color Palette: Poppy Parade, Pale Papaya, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Highland Heather, Gray Granite, Basic Black, Basic White
Accessories: Snailed dies, Big Boss, Stampin Blends, Peony Garden (retired Designer Series paper)
(My apologies: I used a couple of retired elements for this card.)
I cut out a bunch of these snails and started playing with colors. I decided I liked using Gray Granite as a neutral body color to offset the rainbow of snail shells, and once that was in place, the fun of combining the colors began!
I thought that setting alternate snails up on Stampin’ Dimensionals helped separate them and give more sense of motion. The shading got easier as I went along, as I could just repeat the process with different colors.
I created another version with a Gorgeous Grape card base and Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Balmy Blue and Gorgeous Grape snail shells. I used the Gray Granite blend to shadow underneath the die cut snails.
This bundle leaves the lineup for good on June 30. Shop the Online Store for your own Slither of Snails!
Our catalog calendar this year is a little different than in the past. While the Annual Catalog ends on May 3, the January-June catalog is available through June 30. That means that the True Love Designer Series paper and my favorite Snailed It images will be around for a while, and I intend to make use of them as much as I can!
Accessories: True Love Designer Series Paper, Big Boss, Stitched Shapes Dies (retiring 5/3), Messages Die, Snail dies, Old World Paper Embossing Folder (retiring 5/3), Stampin’ Blends, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Stampin’ Dimensionals
This is a great example of a simple layout stepped up with the use of dies, DSP and embossing folders to add interest and texture. It’s just a few rectangles and a snail, right? That little “Oh happy day” sentiment from the Many Messages bundle is a great multi-purpose message. I can add Congratulations or Happy Birthday on the inside when I’m ready to send.
It’s hard to see, but trust me, those snaily eyebubs have some shine. I keep a long bamboo skewer on my craft desk (indispensable in so many ways). I’ve used it here to add some Fine Tip Glue to emphasize my snail’s eyes. The skewer gives me more control over how much and where the glue ends up.

You know how it is. An unexpected injury, a surgery you’d hoped wouldn’t be necessary…and there you are, out of your routine and needing more help than you want to request. The Back on Your Feet stamps know how it feels, too, and are the perfect solution to send a little heartfelt commiseration to a friend in need.
Stamps: Back on Your Feet, Forever Fern
Color Palette: Very Vanilla, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Basic Grey
Accessories: Stampin’ Cut and Emboss (The Boss), Layering Circle dies, Linen Thread, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stampin’ Blends, very very old and retired printed vellum
The little sprig at the end of the branch looked a lot like the leaves from Forever Fern, and from there it was a very short leap to the printed vellum that has been lurking in my stash since Moses inked a stamp. It may have been an SAB choice, or it may not have, I have no idea – but it was perfect for this project. I colored it with Stampin’ Blends and used it as background.
Would you look at that face? If that isn’t the face of compassion and sympathy, I can’t tell you what would be.
And make note of this: Sale-a-bration ends next Sunday, February 28th. Don’t miss the chance for free – FREE! – stamps and paper available with your qualifying purchase. Shop HERE.
This month’s DIY calendar doesn’t feature hearts or Presidents or any other traditional February images. I was clearing the Snails off my desk (I’m afraid I got a little carried away) and underneath the heaps was the Touch of Ink stamp set with its beautiful line art. My first thought was that the images were too big, but when I looked again, I realized they were perfect:
Stamps: A Touch of Ink (Sale-a-bration 2021.1), Forever Fern
Color Palette: Memento Black, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze
Accessories: Stampin Blends, Wink of Stella
This was so enjoyable! I dialed up an image of a Monarch Butterfly on Professor Google and started layering color. I’m not sure you would ever see this particular Monarch out in nature, but the way the colors worked together was very satisfying. I started light and worked my way through to the Light Cajun Craze – I didn’t use the dark version.
If you’d like to try your hand at this simple DIY calendar, I have the 2021 pdf available for $5. Just contact me with your email and your state of residence and I’ll get an invoice to you pronto.
Ready to shop? Visit the Online Store for Stampin’ Blends and Sale-a-bration rewards! These little calendars are so gratifying – easily an evening’s work, and a short evening at that! Thanks for stopping by today, and be sure to see what Cheryl and Crystal have done for February.
I hope there’s room for more Darling Donkeys in your heart. I’ve been working on Valentines, and what says I love you any better than a donkey with a rose in his teeth?
Accessories: Ombré Designer Series paper (Sale-a-bration 2021.1), Big Boss, Messages die, Heart dies (retired, but there are current ones), Stampin’ Blends, Paper Snips, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Clear Epoxy Droplets, Well Suited Twine Combo pack
The technique is really simple. I used a heart shaped die placed overlapping the edge of the top panel on the card. The DSP just needs to be big enough to cover the opening, and once they’re secured I added a mat and adhered it to the card front. My donkey is fussy cut with snips and set up on mini-dimensionals, and I unraveled the grey twine to make it softer and less bulky.
I stamped off “happy” for a tonal effect to coordinate with that fabulous Ombré paper. Let’s not talk about how many orders I’ve placed to be sure I have enough of that paper now, can we agree on that?
If you really need that Ombré paper like I need that Ombré paper, pop over to the Online Store and make an order of at least $50 and then choose that paper as your free gift! Ombré?? and Free?? in the same sentence? Must be my lucky day.
