I was delighted at how much everyone enjoyed this project at the Maui Stampers Craft Fair!
A project like this is such fun to do – I used some of my current favorites as well as a couple of retired gems. I try not to get too attached to retired sets but there are a few that I have tucked away. Culling old stamps makes room for new ones – at least that’s what I tell myself – so the ones that stay really have to earn their keep.
Just before we opened the door…ready for a busy day!
The kind gentlemen at the Maui Masonic Lodge give us a good deal, so we have plenty of room for our goodies. It’s amazing to me that 5 Stampin’ Up! demonstrators can bring such a wide variety of crafts! There’s a lot of versatility in our products.
Apparently there’s not quite as much versatility in our footwear – we were very entertained to realize that Birks – and not just any Birks – were the favored footwear of Maui Stampers. (Looks to me like we all need some sunshine…too much crafting this week!)
And just so you know how dedicated we are to bringing you the finest crafts…neither snow, nor sleet, nor temperatures below 70° will keep us from our appointed rounds.
I hope you enjoyed that 🙂
EVERYBODY loves a sale – and this is a fabulous sale! 12 days of Stampin’ Savings from November 20 to December 2 (Hawaii peeps, don’t forget this is calculated on Mountain Standard Time – add 3 hours to your Hawaii-time clock).

And don’t miss the Maui Stamper Craft Fair this Sunday November 24 at the Kahului Masonic Lodge!
Welcome to the RemARKable 25th Anniversary Best of Blog Tour – hard to believe we’re near the end of these great sets!
The soft color palette in this card provides contrast with the traditional manger scene. It was simple and quite enjoyable to color the vignette with Stampin’ Write markers – I actually did quite a few of these for a craft fair later this month.
I’ve learned to give myself permission to be a little messy with my coloring. That’s a big step for this perfectionist!
All the images in this set are perfectly sized for 3 x 3 gift enclosure cards, but I think this manger works especially well:
Almost the same, and just as easy to do!
Here’s another very traditional holiday image, this time in very traditional colors.
Again, this is a card you could produce very easily as the coloring is simple and then it’s just punch, punch, snip, snip, stamp, tie a knot and send!
I recommend you use the fine point of the Stampin’ Write markers to color the Holly leaves and berries first, then fill in Santa’s cap. I used an Aquapainter with a little Blushing Bride ink for Santa’s face.
Best of December #134384Â $14.95
Don’t forget that when you have ordered 6 of these stamp sets, you can send in the little “25” images to receive a free set valued at no more than $14.95.

Robbie made turkeys for Hostess Club this month:
Hilarious, isn’t it? We always have a great time at club – honestly, there’s so much laughing and teasing that I’m always amazed we get the projects done. If we’d done this one we would still be sitting at my dining table on Thanksgiving morning!
Robbie made these quite generously sized, because this turkey had a special cargo:
I know you won’t believe me when I tell you this, but that Ding Dong is still stuffed in my turkey, all wrapped up.
I can’t say the same for the Hershey Nuggets Robbie slipped me 🙂
I have a fun story to share. A couple of years ago, I read a comment on one of my posts from someone living near the University of Notre Dame where my son had just started college. Mary and I started a correspondence, and this year when Mr. Maui Stamper and I made plans to go to the ND – Navy game, Mary and I made plans to meet face to face.
We worked out a schedule and she picked me up on Saturday morning for coffee. Honestly, we had planned a quick 30 minute “hello” and after 2 hours we were still talking as fast as we could! What a warm, wonderful person Mary is, and if you are lucky enough to live in Mishawaka, you might know that too. I’m just thrilled that I remembered to snap a quick photo:
Have you ever seen such adorable football fans? We could have talked all day – except of course that I had a date with my boys for the game. Mary Travis, I loved meeting you in person, and I hope you’ll come to Maui so we can continue the conversation.
Stampin’ Up! just keeps them coming – be sure you order by November 18 to get these prices! Shop ONLINE
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
This is more snow(flake) than we will see here on Maui, and after a couple of weeks on the chilly Mainland, I’m perfectly happy with that! Festive Flurries is one of our featured stamp sets this month on the RemARKable Stamp of the Month tour.
Festive Flurry Wood #131778 $39.95Â Â Clear #131781 $29.95
Festive Flurry Framelits #132193 $24.95
OR BUY THE BUNDLE AND SAVE 15%!! Wood #133284 $54.95 Clear #133285 $46.95
I wrapped a Styrofoam tubal wreath with some organza (can I get a cheer for the inventor of the hot glue gun?). The snowflakes are built using the stamps and framelits, and the layers are assembled with Stampin’ Dimensionals to provide, well, DIMENSION.
I used Silver Glimmer paper, Brushed Silver card stock, Island Indigo card stock and ink, Pool Party card stock and ink, Whisper White card stock, and the Winter Frost Designer Series paper stack to create the snowflakes. I accessorized with the Frosted Finishes Embellishment, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, and the Silver Basics Designer buttons that are still available on the Clearance Rack. The wreath is finished with a handful of ribbon that will flutter nicely in the trade winds 🙂
This project is absolutely NOT rocket science! YOU can do this – really! Even the wrapping part was super easy because the organza is so forgiving. The hardest part is keeping your fingers out of the hot glue when it’s still hot. (Ask me how I know.)
Your next stop on the tour is Maria Pane. I usually link to the talented Robin Merriman, but she has a family situation that is occupying every moment of her time. If you believe in the power of prayer, please say one for her and her family.
Here’s the rest of the tour should you choose to view it to the beat of your own drummer!

Time to spread a little joy…
This stamp set is a bit of a sleeper. The style is fresh and young, and it has a strong theme of love and caring. It was designed by Emily Montoya in the Stampin’ Up! home office – and it’s only available until January 2, 2014. You won’t find it in any printed catalogs – just in the Online Store.
Clear #134784 at $18.95, Wood #134781 at $25.95. I sat down the other day to play:
Be Brave! What a perfect little lunchbox note – in Island Indigo, Soft Suede and So Saffron. I really love this image with its swirling seas and that heartfelt, woodcut style message.
The sentiments Emily chose for this set really speak to me…
Do you have a bucket list? This would be a good starting point! This color scheme is Island Indigo, Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals, with a little Pool Party brought in with the Epic Day This ‘n That Designer Series paper.
I like to add a Whisper White or Very Vanilla panel on the inside of my cards. It’s easier to write on, and I like the finished look it gives. I used my Simply Scored to add lines 1/8″ from each edge of the panel for more definition.
Since I made this a tall card, it needed a custom envelope. (Drum roll…and cue the Envelope Punch Board!)
This ‘n That Epic Day DSP ties the card and the envelope together for a perfectly coordinated look – and we do love things to be perfectly coordinated, don’t we?
All these goodies are available at my Online Store where you can shop 24/7 without leaving your comfy chair.
