DIY CALENDAR BLOG HOP: MARCH 2025

Welcome back to DIY Calendars! Thanks for joining us this month – and every month – as we share our creative ideas. This month, I’m using a bundle that Stampin’ Up! included in the spring Scrapbooking Brochure, but I think it’s perfect for cards and calendars.

  • Stamps: Everyday You and Me
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia
  • Accessories: DIY Calendar Template, Gold Open Weave Trim, Glue Dots

Have you seen Everyday You & Me? There are trendy stamps and dies and some absolutely gorgeous Designer Series Paper, but it’s easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. Here’s my tip: when you visit the Online Store, look for the button that says “What’s New” and choose “Shop All”. You’ll see new catalog products, new Online Exclusives, new scrapbooking products, and new kits all in one place.

That would also include this gorgeous gold Open Weave Trim. We had silver a while back, and I used it a lot. It’s gorgeous on packages, but you can smoosh it behind a focal point or unweave it a bit for an unstructured accent.

Click the button to travel through the Blog Hop and see what Sharon, Cheryl and Malia have created in March. We’re so glad you’ve joined us!

Would you like to make your own DIY Calendars? The template is just $5 – let me know that’s what you want and I’ll send you an invoice. Please tell me you’re a real being in the message box – I’m getting increasing amounts of spam. Everything is done digitally, so you’ll have it quickly.

You are only purchasing a template, which you can download and print for your personal use.

DIY CALENDAR BLOG HOP: JANUARY 2025

It’s a new year, and we have new things in store for you! I’m delighted to have two new crafters joining us, and I think you’ll love what they have to offer. Sharon Bukert of As the Ink Dries is a seasoned Stampin’ Up! demonstrator with an expert eye for design and color. Malia Webb of Crafted by Malia is a relatively new demonstrator who has grown up in the business. She’s the daughter of Cheryl Hamilton, who you know as Create with Cheryl, and it’s a thrill to have two generations of crafters on this blog hop! Crystal Kondo is taking a break for family reasons.

Welcome to 2025, welcome to the blog hop, and welcome to all of our new friends! I’ve chosen an almost-available new stamp set from the January-April 2025 Mini Catalog for this month: introducing Terrific Toadstools:

  • Stamps: Terrific Toadstools (available January 7), Seaside Wishes
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: DIY Calendar template, Paper Snips, Brushed Brass Butterflies

I wanted the largest Toadstool to be Poppy Parade, but the inside needed to be a neutral. I had a minor stroke of genius, if I do say so myself: I stamped the image on the calendar in Crumb Cake (stamped off), then stamped it again in Poppy Parade on a scrap. I cut out the middle and adhered it with “green glue”.

The little dits are from Seaside Wishes -I thought there needed to be some magic in the air.

Click on the button to cruise through the hop – you’re in for a treat!

Would you like to make your own DIY Calendars? The template is just $5 – let me know that’s what you want and I’ll send you an invoice. Please tell me you’re a real being in the message box – I’m getting increasing amounts of spam. Everything is done digitally, so you’ll have it quickly.

Sweet Strawberry: May 2021 DIY

It’s time for fresh strawberries: strawberry shortcake, strawberry pie, strawberries eaten out of your hand with the juice running down! The Sweet Strawberry bundle is sadly on the not available list right now, but when it comes in, you’ll want to be first in line to get yours! I shared a strawberry card on Wednesday, and today I’ve made the May DIY calendar with the same images:

Maui Stamper Stampin Up May 2021 Sweet Strawberry DIY Calendar
  • Stamps: Sweet Strawberry, Natural Textures (21-22 Host Rewards stamp)
  • Color Palette: Basic White, Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Gray Granite
  • Accessories: Strawberry Punch, Pearl Jewels, Stampin Dimensionals, clear raindrops from the craft archive (pretty sure it was a long past Paper Pumpkin)
Maui Stamper Stampin Up May 2021 Sweet Strawberry DIY Calendar

Can I just say that Poppy Parade could easily be renamed Sweet Strawberry? I’m not very good with alliteration, but the folks at the Head Office seem to have made it an art form.

The designs in the about-to-be-released Natural Textures stamp set are right up my alley. I stamped off the Gray Granite in this case because I wanted to showcase the berries. These textural images will be heaps of fun.

Cheryl and Crystal have a calendar to share with you too! Please stop by and give them a little blog-love. If you’d like to make your own 2021 DIY calendar, it’s just $5. Click Contact the Maui Stamper and give me your email address, and I’ll send you an invoice.

You have just 2 more days to shop the Retiring List, which would be terribly sad except that it means we are about to have access to the ENTIRE new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog! I am ready to fill my cart – how about you?

DIY Calendar November 2020: Dragonfly Garden

What is this Dragonfly Garden, Maui Stamper? It is not in my catalog!! It is not in my mini!!

Nope. You’re right. It’s a super-dee-duper sneak peek of a set we’ll all be lovin’ up big time in January. Demonstrators who signed up for our fall virtual event were given the opportunity to buy it early. And yes, I did!!

Maui Stamper Stampin Up DIY Easel Calendar November 2020 Dragonfly Garden
  • Stamps: Dragonfly Garden (2021), Right Triangle
  • Color Palette: Whisper White, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Cinnamon Cider
  • Accessories Dragonflies punch (2021 oh YES), Stampin’ Blends, Dimensionals

Choosing colors for this was HARD. I went through multiple combinations, but this one felt right for fall. It was hard to keep it clean too – I started experimenting with backgrounds and quickly realized that in such a small space, less is truly more.

The 2021 Easel Calendar pdf is for sale! For just $5, I’ll send you a pdf and cutting instructions to make your own calendar. If you start this month, you’ll have plenty of time to make them as gifts, and this small format (3.5 x 3.5) is an easy size for creating. Don’t put your email in the comments – click on Contact the Maui Stamper to send it to me securely, and I’ll send you an invoice via Square. Requested one in the past and never paid it? No shame, I don’t judge, send again and we’ll get it done!

February DIY: Lovely Lilypad

WHOOSH!

February is upon us and January is in the rear view. I’m glad there will be an extra day in February this year, because I need it! (See previous post, lol.) Here’s to the turn of the calendar:

I wanted to use the embossed image technique for the Lilypad, but I wasn’t happy with what I was coming up with using the Blender pens, the Aqua painter, or the Stampin’ Blends, so I pulled out the actual, bona fide, genuine article – the paintbrush.

I’m not trained by any stretch of the imagination, so this was absolutely trial and error, but I had a great time and I’m happy with the results so I count it for a win! A little Wink of Stella gives it a little shine.

Do you make your own DIY Calendar? It’s quick and easy, and so gratifying to see on your craft desk every month. Click on “Contact the Maui Stamper” above if you’d like to purchase your own calendar – I sell the pdf for just $5 so you can make as many as you like.

Stop by to see what Crystal and Cheryl are doing for February. And if you’re ready to shop, visit the Online Store!

Miss that Crazy Moose!

There are MANY MANY WONDERFUL holiday stamps in the 2017 Holiday catalog, but my-oh-my did I love this crazy moose from 2016!

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Jolly Friends

  • Stamps:  Jolly Friends, Tin of Tags (both retired)
  • Color Palette:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Emerald Envy, Daffodil Delight
  • Accessories:  Red Glimmer paper, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, Jolly Hat Punch (retired), Stampin’ Dimensionals

He’s such a dorky guy. I have a special corner of my heart reserved for dorky guys.  Not that Mr. Maui Stamper or Son of Stamper are dorks – no, no no! I’m just fond of dorky guys.  That’s all.

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Jolly Friends

2018 is just around the corner, and I’ll be done with retired stamps at least until the new Annual Catalog comes out!  Whew!

To get your December off to a jolly start, Cheryl and Crystal have also shared their calendar pages for this month.  Ho ho ho!

The abundance of November

It’s a little late for figs, although I have to admit that I made a lovely dish with them this summer. If I’d had the 2017-2018 In Colors when I made this calendar page, I absolutely would have made it in Fresh Fig.  But there you go. We are operating in an alternate universe with these calendars.

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Fabulous Flora

  • Stamps:  Fabulous Flora, Gorgeous Grunge (sorry, both retired from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog)
  • Colors: Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede
  • Accessories:  Aqua Painter

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Fabulous Flora

An Aqua Painter is an indispensable tool on my craft desk. I have multiples just because I use them so often. They need to be everywhere.

Take a moment to be inspired by the creations that Crystal and Cheryl have created for November.  You’ll be glad you did.

Want to create your own DIY Easel Calendar? I have just a few left – check THIS POST for details.

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! 2018 DIY Easel Calendar Kit

Rocky Raccoon

Love this little raccoon! It amazes me how quickly something gets moved to the back of the stack when new goodies come along. It’s been a while since I’ve played with Foxy Friends, but clearly, Rocky is perfect for October.

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Foxy Friends

  • Stamps: Foxy Friends
  • Color Palette: Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Basic Grey, Tangerine Tango
  • Accessories:  Stampin’ Write Markers, Aqua Painter

When I told Crystal his name was Rocky Raccoon, she didn’t get it. Even when I started to sing. As in, she had no idea that there was a SONG. By the BEATLES.   It’s moments like this that make me feel O.L.D. Sigh.

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Foxy Friends

Using Stampin’ Write markers on a stamp to get multiple colors out of one impression is one of those things that makes me happy. Plain and simple happy. Not hard at all happy. Let’s drink cocktails while we’re writing blog posts happy (oopsie).

Cheryl and Crystal have October inspiration for you as well – enjoy!

Maui Stamper Stampin' Up! 2018 DIY Easel Calendar Kit

I still have a few DIY Easel Calendar kits and refills available.  Visit THIS POST for details.

Sweet Maui Pines

Ah, I was a happy Maui Stamper when I saw the Pop of Paradise stamp set would carry forward into this year!

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Pop of Pink

  • Stamps: Pop of Paradise
  • Color Palette: Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Paper Snips, Stampin’ Write markers, Glue Dots

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Pop of Pink

I fussy cut that one pine with my paper snips and attached it to the calendar with a couple of Glue Dots. They give a tiny bit of lift without too much height – more visual height that actual height.

2018 DIY Calendars and Easel Calendars are ready to ship! I’ll post the details later today.

Crystal and Cheryl have more great DIY calendar inspiration for you today – head over and see!

August flowers on the line

This is the month when things start to get really HOT on Maui. I’m a sunshine and warm weather girl, but even I wilt a bit with our late summer heat. These sweet posies, however, will stay fresh all month long:

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Swirly Bird

  • Stamps: Swirly Bird
  • Color Palette:  Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizazz, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Swirly Scribbles Framelits

Maui Stamper DIY Easel Calendar Swirly Bird

The color on the flowers isn’t even sponged – I inked them up with the Peekaboo Peach and then tapped the edges into the Tangerine Tango pad. It’s almost too easy. I also toyed with the idea of putting at least one of the blooms on a dimensional, but with these calendars I prefer as flat a profile as possible, so it was Tombo (the Wonder Adhesive) to the rescue.

Cheryl and Crystal have created fabulous August designs – stop by and see what they’ve done!
