It’s a new year, and we have new things in store for you! I’m delighted to have two new crafters joining us, and I think you’ll love what they have to offer. Sharon Bukert of As the Ink Dries is a seasoned Stampin’ Up! demonstrator with an expert eye for design and color. Malia Webb of Crafted by Malia is a relatively new demonstrator who has grown up in the business. She’s the daughter of Cheryl Hamilton, who you know as Create with Cheryl, and it’s a thrill to have two generations of crafters on this blog hop! Crystal Kondo is taking a break for family reasons.
Welcome to 2025, welcome to the blog hop, and welcome to all of our new friends! I’ve chosen an almost-available new stamp set from the January-April 2025 Mini Catalog for this month: introducing Terrific Toadstools:
Stamps: Terrific Toadstools (available January 7), SeasideWishes
Accessories: DIY Calendar template, Paper Snips, Brushed Brass Butterflies
I wanted the largest Toadstool to be Poppy Parade, but the inside needed to be a neutral. I had a minor stroke of genius, if I do say so myself: I stamped the image on the calendar in Crumb Cake (stamped off), then stamped it again in Poppy Parade on a scrap. I cut out the middle and adhered it with “green glue”.
The little dits are from Seaside Wishes -I thought there needed to be some magic in the air.
Click on the button to cruise through the hop – you’re in for a treat!
Would you like to make your own DIY Calendars? The template is just $5 – let me know that’s what you want and I’ll send you an invoice. Please tell me you’re a real being in the message box – I’m getting increasing amounts of spam. Everything is done digitally, so you’ll have it quickly.
You are only purchasing a template, which you can download and print for your personal use.

Tomorrow is the Big Day: the 23-24 Annual Catalog is available to EVERYONE! Demonstrators have had the opportunity to shop a limited selection, but tomorrow it’s All The Things for All The Crafters!!
In celebration, I’m using a brand new stamp set from the new catalog for my May 2023 DIY Easel calendar. These images and sentiments are great starters for a new crafter, but have plenty of room for creativity for someone who has crafted a little longer.
Stamps: Circle Sayings
Color Palette: Basic White, Basic Black Gray Granite, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Boho Blue, Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon
Accessories: Wink of Stella, Stampin’ Blends
The original image is a circle, but I wanted to expand it to fill my space. Here’s the original:
I used a simple masking technique to repeat the image on either side. The paper I used to mask came off the back of our self-adhesive strips, so it was opaque enough for me to see through. I stamped the image twice, and trimmed the left, then the right side of the image. Then I covered the right, aligning the mask carefully by using the ability to see through:
This stamp is photopolymer, so I could see just where I wanted it!
Repeat with the right side!
And here you have it! The alignment isn’t exact, but this is the real world and things aren’t always perfect. Now to color:
I used a LOT of blues. There’s some Boho Blue, although I would have preferred Lost Lagoon. Alas, I don’t have those Blends (yet!!) I used Pool Party for brightness and Pretty Peacock to tone down the Boho Blue. The birds are defined with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
There you have it! Be sure to see what Cheryl and Crystal have done for their May DIY Calendar.
There’s still a few hours to save on the Last Chance sale – use Host Code 3YYCMTDH.
Be sure to subscribe by May 10th for your Craft Escape in a box! The May kit features outdoor landscapes and the new 23-25 In Colors. This is a card kit with an option to purchase additional cards and envelopes on May 2nd.

Wooo! I’ve just seen the new Stampin’ Up! Color/Colour palette and we are in for some GOOD TIMES!! I’m not going to editorialize right now so I can get this out to you. Here’s a little teaser:
These new and returning colors are going to have a huge impact! I love all the new soft shades and the great assortment of neutrals coming in the 23-24 Annual Catalog.
That said, with so many new colors, we have to make room. Say farewell to Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz, Mint Macaron, Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Pacific Point, So Saffron, Rich Razzleberry, and Merry Merlot. If any of those colors tug at your heart strings, SHOP NOW!! They won’t stick around!

The Floating Sunset technique is reappearing today as the Sparkling Moon for the 2022 June DIY Easel calendar! I have a lot of ideas in my head for this technique – it’s fun, it’s easy, it uses scraps, and I love the result.
Stamps: Sparkle of the Season
Color Palette: Basic White, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Tranquil Tidefor mat (retired In Color)
Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, window sheets, layering circle dies, watercolor paper, water painter, ink refill, Wink of Stella, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Trust me, the Stella is there and it is very sparkly. I had some odd-size pieces of watercolor paper left over from the Floating Sunset cards, so I watercolored them with Bermuda Bay ink refills and cut them into strips. I started with a pretty dilute solution and added more drops of ink as I went along, but you could just as easily start with a stronger solution and dilute it with water as you work.
This technique has my mind spinning: I’m going to try it with Designer Series Paper next. So many options!
What do you think? Would you like to make one of these? Next month I’ll have the 2023 Calendar pdf for sale for all of you planner-aheader crafters. In the meantime, please visit my crafty BFFs Cheryl and Crystal’s to see the calendars they’ve created for June 2022.
It’s LAST CHANCE time for the 2022 January – June Mini catalog, and these incredible deals won’t last! Many dies are 50% off, so do the math: the best deal may not be the bundle, but buying stamps and dies separately. Whatever you do, don’t wait! Sale begins June 1.
The June Paper Pumpkin features fresh summer designs and sentiments to make 9 cards with matching envelopes. Your kit includes a customizable canvas bag – and you can order more mini bags to deliver your cards with style!

The Fern 3D Embossing Folder is back with a different look today. I’ve run it through the Big Boss with Orchid Oasis card stock, and WOW does it shout out loud!
Accessories: Big Boss, Fern 3D embossing folder, Penned Flowers dies, Scalloped Contours dies, 22-24 In Color DSP, Stampin’ Blends, Metallic Woven Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Parakeet Party is a bold and bright green, and it really makes this card pop. It has such high energy, and moves this design into a very different feeling than you would get from Pear Pizazz or even Granny Apple Green. I love the opportunity to work with new colors each year when our In Color collection releases.
I slipped a little metallic woven ribbon in again, fraying just the ends this time. I hardly ever bother tying a bow any more. I just stick a glue dot where it will be hidden by an element on the front of the card and position the ribbon that way. It’s easier to move and adjust so that you get exactly the look you want without tying and tying and tying again.
Orchid Oasis is such a saturated color and it really shows off the gorgeous detail in the Fern 3D EF. The design is multi-directional and covers the entire panel, giving the crafter multiple ways to orient and use the panel. Put the Fern 3D Embossing Folder on your next order!
Is your wishlist $99 or more? There are just a few days left to become a discount shopper and earn the In Color kit bonus. For just $99 you’ll choose $125 in Stampin’ Up! product and receive a bonus of 22 – 24 In Color Grid Paper, ink pad assortment, cardstock assortment, and Designer Series paper – an added value of $66.50. I am slightly obsessed with the new 3D Fern Embossing Folder! It slices, it dices…ok, it doesn’t do any of those things, but it works with just about every image in my collection! Today I’m sharing it paired with Happiness Abounds:
Stamps: Happiness Abounds
Color Palette: Basic White, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Big Boss, Stampin’ Blends, Metallic Woven Ribbon, Wink of Stella, snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, 21-23 In Color gems (retired)
This is a versatile layout, so if you have “bits” on your craft desk (you know, things you’ve die cut and colored and then didn’t use) this is an easy way to give them a home. I colored the open bloom from Happiness Abounds with Tahitian Tide and Daffodil Delight, then added a little Wink of Stella to the center. The trim is “unwound” with the tip of my snips (your pick tool works too) and adhered to the card with a strip of Stampin’ Seal.
You can see the sparkle from the Wink of Stella, and you can also see how that Fern texture really pops!
Card so nice I made it twice!!
What do you think of this version? That Sweet Sorbet ink makes that flower look like a poppy – so Poppy Parade would be another great choice. And yes, I fussy cut the sentiment (don’t you love that font???) but you could just as easily add it on a strip. Make yourself happy.
Inspired? I’ll bet you have a flower or two in your stamp collection 😁 Pick up the Fern 3D Embossing Folder and give this card a try! I’ll be flattered if you do.
Is your wishlist $99 or more? Perhaps you’d like to become a discount shopper and purchase the customizable starter kit. For just $99 you’ll choose $125 in Stampin’ Up! product and receive a bonus of 22 – 24 In Color Grid Paper, ink pad assortment, cardstock assortment, and Designer Series paper – an added value of $66.50. TRUTH: Masking paper is coming in the 22-23 Annual Catalog and I cannot wait to get my hands on it, but it was not available for pre-order. It will be on my first order, though!! I used a sticky note in this case, but one of the advantages of masking paper is that it adheres on all edges. Stand by for updates!
Retiring Lovely You features petite images, perfect for accenting, and wonderful sentiments in a block/script font combination. It’s the sentiments that I’ll miss the most. When we travel and people discover we’re from Maui, we often get a quizzical look. People seem to think that living on Maui means you never want to go anywhere. While it’s a wonderful place to live, there are good reasons to travel! I’ll share some details and photos later, but for now here’s what I did today:
Simply Said stamp said (Last Chance)
Whisper White, Pirouette Pink, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery card stock
Certainly Celery, Pirouette Pink and Regal Rose Classic ink pads
Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Write markers
Certainly Celery 1/8 inch taffeta ribbon (Last Chance)
Big Shot and Beautiful Wings Embosslit
Stampin’ Dimensionals
This is my favorite image of all the stamps in Simply Said. Can’t quite tell you why, but it is. I really love it stamped on colored card stock in Craft White ink, but it was fun to color in those little blossoms for a change. I spent a lovely few hours in my studio this afternoon, enjoying some of the Last Chance stamp sets one final time.
Time has almost run out for these Last Chance stamps! Many of the Last Chance accessories are discounted, and some have sold out, so visit my Online Store to put in that Last Chance order just under the wire! If you’re on Maui, a $50 online order will earn you an invitation to an exclusive New Product class on July 9th.
