January is traditionally a time for change, but I think it’s also a good time to return to my anchors. I love this Timeless Plaid DSP from the January – April 2025 mini precisely for its classic design. The colors are updated, but the patterns are truly timeless.
Stamps: Everyday Greetings, Greetings of the Season
Color Palette: Very Vanilla, Boho Blue, Crumb Cake
I hope the Greetings of the Season dies stick around for a long time, because they give me a spot to anchor my BELOVED Linen Thread instead of using a Glue Dot.
Timeless Plaid is a January – April 2025 Mini Catalog product, part of the Storybook Moments Suite. The color palette includes Basic Beige, Boho Blue, Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pebbled Path, Pecan Pie, and Wild Wheat. Add a package to your order and take a creative journey!

It’s a new year, and we have new things in store for you! I’m delighted to have two new crafters joining us, and I think you’ll love what they have to offer. Sharon Bukert of As the Ink Dries is a seasoned Stampin’ Up! demonstrator with an expert eye for design and color. Malia Webb of Crafted by Malia is a relatively new demonstrator who has grown up in the business. She’s the daughter of Cheryl Hamilton, who you know as Create with Cheryl, and it’s a thrill to have two generations of crafters on this blog hop! Crystal Kondo is taking a break for family reasons.
Welcome to 2025, welcome to the blog hop, and welcome to all of our new friends! I’ve chosen an almost-available new stamp set from the January-April 2025 Mini Catalog for this month: introducing Terrific Toadstools:
Stamps: Terrific Toadstools (available January 7), SeasideWishes
Accessories: DIY Calendar template, Paper Snips, Brushed Brass Butterflies
I wanted the largest Toadstool to be Poppy Parade, but the inside needed to be a neutral. I had a minor stroke of genius, if I do say so myself: I stamped the image on the calendar in Crumb Cake (stamped off), then stamped it again in Poppy Parade on a scrap. I cut out the middle and adhered it with “green glue”.
The little dits are from Seaside Wishes -I thought there needed to be some magic in the air.
Click on the button to cruise through the hop – you’re in for a treat!

The Z-fold card is one of my favorite designs: it’s a simple fold with a big impact. It’s essentially a regular fold with an extra score and a focal point, so it’s a great candidate for production. And it’s a great way to spotlight our beautiful Designer Series Papers!
Stamps: Greetings of the Season, Translucent Florals
Color Palette: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Mellow Moss
Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Spotlight on Nature dies, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Season of Elegance DSP, Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots, Gold Ribbon (retired)
Don’t you love the shimmer of Gold Embossing? Every time I emboss something, especially a greeting, I ask myself why I don’t do it more often. It’s not hard and it adds so much!!
To create the Z-fold, cut your 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock into two panels measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″. Score one of them at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″ and fold in half, then fold the front panel back to the left. Add a focal point (I love using a die cut) and you are ready to go!
Shop for Season of Elegance DSP in the Online Store. You still have time to make a few more cards before the holidays! Running out of time?? Then send Happy New Year cards – that sentiment is in Greetings of the Season. We’ve got you covered!

Happy Hibiscus is a “forevah” stamp set in my crafty toolbox – I may have to buy a second bundle just in case I ever lose a piece! (Not that I lose things, oh, no!)
Stamps: Happy Hibiscus, Layers of Beauty, Everyday Greetings, Greetings of the Season
Color Palette: Basic White, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Garden Green, Real Red
Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, Happy Hibiscus dies and Hybrid Embossing Folder, Watercolor Pencils, White Bakers Twine, Transparent Adhesive Back Dots, Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals
To get the red center, I used watercolor pencils. They allowed me to shade and layer the color the way I saw it in my mind’s eye. I also used the pencils on the background image from Layers of Beauty to keep them soft and, well, you know, in the background.
Happy Hibiscus is an Online Exclusive– search for it by name in the Online store and add it to your crafty toolbox!!

I did a happy dance when I saw Seaside Wishes on the demonstrator pre-order offering. It was at the top of my shopping list, and that should come as no surprise. I have lots of plans for these images!
Stamps: Seaside Wishes
Color Palette: Basic White, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral
Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Seaside Wishes dies, Blending Brushes, Wink of Stella, Stampin’ Dimensionals
There’s a little Wink of Stella along the shoreline, a bit of sea foam if you like. The pebbled path is stamped-off to keep it subtle. I brushed a light layer of Pool Party above the path and Crumb Cake below it with Stampin’ Brushes.
This calendar page is perfect for the start of summer. To be honest, we don’t really notice summer – June is mango season. Lychee and passionfruit are soon to follow. We have seasons, but they’re different from the traditional ones on the calendar. (Whale season starts anytime late October to early November!)
I’m so glad you’ve visited our calendar mini hop! Please stop by to see what Cheryl and Crystal have created for June. We look forward to hearing what you think each month.
And if you need your own Seaside Wishes, shop the Online Store. There’s a hybrid embossing folder too – but the images were too big for my little calendar. (The embossing folder is currently unavailable, and is anticipated in the warehouse next week.)
The 24-25 Annual Catalog has arrived in the store! New stamps, dies, tools, and gorgeous new In Colors!! Shop HERE. And now more than ever, don’t neglect the Online Exclusives – you’ll find more beautiful products that never appear in a catalog.

I’ve wanted to make a lei-style card for a while. After I used this flower from Season of Chic for a couple of other cards, I decided to try stringing it into a lei. I’m not perfectly satisfied, but I think it’s a decent start:
Stamps: Season of Chic, Alphabest
Color Palette: Basic White, Moody Mauve, Petal Pink, Lost Lagoon, Shaded Spruce
Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Chic dies, Stampin’ Blends, Irridescent Rhinestone gems, Daubers, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Watercolor Paper
I’m not sure what this blossom is, but it doesn’t look like any lei flowers I’m familiar with! Let’s call it Artistic License. The outline is inked in Moody Mauve, and the fill stamp is inked in Petal Pink. I added a light wash of Moody Mauve applied with a dauber and then lightly misted before stamping on watercolor paper. Let’s have a cheer for two-step stampin’!
I am so envious of those artists who are able to create beautiful watercolor washes. I’ve tried more times than I care to acknowledge, and it never comes out the way I see it in my mind. For this card, I used the lightest Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend on Basic White card stock.
This card needs a custom envelope, and I found just the thing in my stash of retired papers. I’m quite pleased to found something that coordinated so well! (I’m also pleased to have one less sheet of DSP in my retired stash – it’s a bit overwhelming.)
We have so many beautiful flowers in our stamp offering, and you probably have one that would be perfect for this technique. On the off chance you don’t, you’re welcome to shop the Online Store.

Stampin’ Through the Catalog featured Pick of the Patch this week for their challenge (try it, you’ll like it) and I loved the inspiration project so much I made my own version:
Stamps: Pick of the Patch
Color Palette: Basic White, Smoky Slate, Lost Lagoon, Pebble Path, Memento Black
Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Exposed Brick Embossing Folder, Pick of the Patch Builder Punch, Earthen Elegance DSP, Classic Matte Dots, Pebble Path Jute Trim, Stampin’ Dimensionals
See the inspiration HERE. How do you like my version?
I fussy cut that funny gourd-like pumpkin and the swirls (ugh, not sure I would do that 25 times! But once was ok.) The Earthen Elegance DSP provides lots of interesting texture for layers, including the sentiment panel.
Have you played along with a challenge lately? I’d love it if you shared your favorites with me.
And if you need your own Pick of the Patch, shop the Online Store.

Production is not my jam, but I made 20 of these cards for a Fun-Fold swap at Stampin’ Up! leadership last month in Las Vegas. My absolute FAVE Inked Botanicals DSP was the star of this Square Double Z-Fold card.
Stamps: Inked & Tiled
Color Palette: Very Vanilla, Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Crushed Curry
There’s a bit of cutting involved to get all the pieces, but after that it’s pretty much glue, glue, glue! The paper does all the heavy lifting for this card. Because I made so many, I did some mixing and matching of color and pattern:
The pattern across the bottom is the same, but I used 3 different Lost Lagoon papers for the front. There were also variations for the Crushed Curry panel on the inside.
The card base is 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″. The narrow band across the bottom is 8 1/2″ x 1 1/4″ with the same scoring. All DSP is 1/8″ narrower on both sides to create a narrow margin for the mat. I chose a rectangular panel from Scalloped Contour dies for my focal point, but many other shapes would work well.
Have you made a Z-fold? A Double Z? I’d love to know how you coordinated the panels. And if you need some of that yummy Inked Botanicals Designer Series paper, shop the Online Store. Tell them I sent you 😁

I’m a late arrival to Season of Chic, but I’m now a true believer. It’s a versatile two-step stamping collection, and that makes it perfect for this simple watercolor technique:
Stamps: Season of Chic, Go To Greetings/Something Fancy
Color Palette: Basic White with Orchid Oasis, Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green and Parakeet Party/Basic White with Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Winter Wheat, and Old Olive
Accessories: Watercolor Paper, Stampin’ Spritzer, Dauber, Big Boss, Chic dies, Deckle Rectangle dies/Stitched Rectangle dies (retired), Metallic Ribbon/In Color Jute, Tinsel Gems/In Color dots
Do you have a favorite demonstrator (or two) whose work you never grow tired of? For me, Tami Hewlett is one of those people. She recently shared a stunning card showcasing a simple watercolor technique, and I really wanted to give it a try. Ink is applied to the stamp and the stamp is misted with water. Once it’s been stamped on watercolor paper, details are added using the two-step stamping technique.
I don’t have the Tropical Leaf Bundle that she used, but these flowers made me happy. I tried a number of color combinations, and the range of yellows and purples were very satisfying. For this technique, it makes a big difference to have that two-step outline. It adds shape and definition to the soft, flowing watercolor.
I originally intended to use Orchid Oasis with Starry Sky, but the combination was too dark and didn’t have enough contrast. Highland Heather provided the balance I needed.
Each flower is unique, depending on where I placed the ink and how much water it got from the Spritzer. Tami applied the darker ink direct to the stamp, but I found it gave me more control to use a dauber.
The watercolor paper makes a big difference. It absorbs the water, distributing the color evenly without distortion of the paper.
What color combination would you choose? I’m looking for more ideas! If you’d like to try this technique, shop for Season of Chic stamps and dies, or Tami’s choice, the Tropical Leaf bundle. Either way, I’m confident you’ll have a lot of fun!
