The Wink of Stella just would NOT photograph but trust me, Santa is a-blingin’!!  It’s really quick and easy coloring with the Stampin’ Write markers too.

I want to point out the Oh What Fun stamp set because in my opinion, it’s been overlooked with all the excitement of the 2016 Holiday catalog.  Oh What Fun is in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog as a returning star from last year’s Holiday catalog, and it is stellar.

Maui Stamper RemARKable Presents & Pinecones with Wondrous Wreath

I don’t know about you, but I NEVER have enough tags! Tags for packages, tags for goodies, tags for bottles of refreshing beverages…I NEED TAGS.

  • Stamps:  Wondrous Wreath, Merry Mice
  • Color Palette:  Emerald Envy, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
  • Accessories:  Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Bunch of Banners Framelits, Layering Squares Framelits, Wink of Stella Clear, Cherry Cobbler Silky Taffeta Ribbon, Bakers Twine Trio Pack, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots, 1/8″ handheld punch

Maui Stamper RemARKable Presents & Pinecones with Wondrous Wreath

Hopping in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

I’m thrilled to be a part of the FIRST Annual Ultimate Pink Blog Hop – a collaboration of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around the world to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Let’s turn the blogosphere – and Pinterest – PINK!!

Maui Stamper First Annual Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

Pink isn’t one of my go-to colors, so it’s a bit of a stretch for me to go All Pink.  I decided to play it safe and CASE myself, and I chose one of my all-time favorites to start:

Maui Stamper Botanical Blossoms Ultimate Pink Blog Hop 2016

I love the Botanical Blooms stamps and coordinating Botanical Builder Framelits.  One of my favorite things to do is to crank out a heap of floral pieces (there are 14 to choose from!) and keep moving them around until I’m happy.

This one made me happy!

Maui Stamper Botanical Blossoms Ultimate Pink Blog Hop 2016

I’ve used Whisper White, Shimmer White, Smoky Slate, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, and Rose Red, with a smidge of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to add sparkle without sending Mr. Maui Stamper out on the “I HATE GLITTER” warpath.  A few Rhinestone Jewels add a little more sparkle, and this card is ready for anything!

Maui Stamper Botanical Blossoms Ultimate Pink Blog Hop 2016

Dress it up or dress it down – I’ll stamp a sentiment on the inside when I choose the occasion.  I keep a stash of blank cards for those moments when I realize I’m a day late and a dollar short (tell the truth, now…doesn’t that happen to all of us once in a while?)

Maui Stamper Botanical Blossoms Ultimate Pink Blog Hop 2016

Love You Lots is on the other end of the crafting spectrum – cute as a bug, I’d say!  This is a quick and simple card with a color palette of Whisper White, Basic Grey, Blushing Bride and a Wink Of Stella.  Do you Wink?  It’s another way of adding sparkle without a tragic Glitter outbreak, making Certain Members of my household very unhappy.

Maui Stamper Love You Lots Ultimate Pink Blog Hop 2016

A little Smoky Slate Stitched ribbon ties it all together {wink again!}

I hope you’ve enjoyed my venture into the World of Pink.  Keep in mind that our focus isn’t so much on the color, but on what it represents:  Breast Cancer Awareness.  Take care of your body.  Do your monthly self-exam.  Support your sisters who are fighting.  Contribute to an organization that funds research into learning more about this insidious disease.

And by all means, continue on the tour!  There are 70 stops – I hope you’ve got a big cup of coffee!

Join us as we Craft Pink for one day:

Maui Stamper World Card Making Day Specials October 1-5 2016

Maui Stamper Designer Series Paper Sale October 2016 Stampin Up

World Card Making Day 2016

Yes! World Card Making Day is a THING!  And anyone can make a card – beginning with a little bit of paper.  Nothing warms my heart like an envelope with my name across the front.  Tucked in with the bills, realtor solicitations, charity appeals, and credit card applications, a personal note really makes my day.  It’s not hard, and it doesn’t have to take a lot of time or money either!

Maui Stamper Floral Boutique Stampin' Up! Congrats

  • Stamps:  None (gasp)
  • Color Palette:  Whisper White, Night of Navy, Mint Macaron
  • Accessories:  Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, Big Shot and Sunshine Wishes framelits, Pokey Doodle, Silver Thread

I love the look of blue and white, especially the classic look of (Night of) Navy and white.  The Floral Boutique DSP has a great variety of designs and they are all Navy and White!

Maui Stamper Floral Boutique Stampin' Up! Love

This very simple card using the same colors, paper and framelits with the addition of a few sequins.  Honestly?  I think I liked it better when it was just the DSP and the word!  I thought it was too simple, but sometimes less really is more.

Maui Stamper Floral Boutique Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday

Switching out Mint Macaron for Emerald Envy creates a different feeling, and I added images from the Petite Petals and Birthday Blossoms stamp sets.  None of these cards are especially complicated, and you could create a nice stash of cards in an afternoon using any of our Designer Series papers.

Maui Stamper Designer Series Paper Buy-3-Get-1-Free Sale October 2016

Stampin’ Up! Designer Series paper adds a quick and gorgeous punch to any project, and the part that just makes me sing is that it all coordinates.  Within each package, the papers coordinate with each other.  Written on each package, Stampin’ Up! lists the coordinating colors.  That means you’ll know exactly which card stock, ink, ribbon, enamel shape, sequin or embossing powder will coordinate perfectly with your Designer Series paper.  You can focus on being creative instead of worrying whether or not something will match!  DSP is a great value for the entire month of October – buy 3 packs and get one free.

Maui Stamper World Card Making Day Specials October 1-5 2016

To celebrate World Card Making Day, Stampin’ Up! is offering fabulous savings on kits and supplies to make your own cards – but only through October 5th.  Pay special attention to the Fast Fuse sale.  If you’re not on the FF bandwagon yet, well, get on board!  It’s a great value and it REALLY STICKS.  Fast Fuse is absolutely indispensable on my craft desk.

Today is a great day to make a card, whether it’s an award winning work of art or a simple card crafted from the heart.  Write a loving note inside, address the envelope, put a stamp on it and send it.  And then SHOP HERE.  Because you need some Stampin’ Up! card making supplies, my friend!

A special gift for a special couple

I spent a wonderful day on Saturday celebrating the marriage of my God-daughter to the love of her life.  It was a whirlwind trip from Maui to LAX and back in the blink of an eye but it was worth every moment, penny and hair-raising mile on So Cal freeways to spend some fabulous family time together.  I’m sorry to say I don’t have a decent photo of the weekend to share – I was too busy talk-talk-talkin’ – but I can show you what I made for the bride and groom:

Tiff and Jason's Bridal Smash BookThis is primarily retired product as I was working with their wedding invitation, so no product list.  It’s a smash book for their wedding day, bound with a couple of giant office book rings so that there would be plenty of room for cards, table numbers, photos, or whatever suits them.

Tiff and Jason's Bridal Smashbook insideI used Prints Pack Designer Series paper to cover the inside of the cover, front and back, and included their wedding invitation and some embellished pages to get them started.

Tiff and Jason's Bridal Smash BookYou KNEW the Summer Silhouettes stamp set would have to find it’s way into this project!  Love love love those images!!

Tiff and Jason's Bridal Smash BookI had such a great time playing with images, colors and papers inside the covers.  It was a wonderful weekend and I am grateful they invited me to share their day with them.

Lot of news in the Stampin’ Up! world including new pricing for MDS print projects, free  piercing templates with purchases and more – check my Online Store for the details!

And mark your online browsing calendar for this Saturday, October 6 – I’ll be part of a RemARKable Blog Hop featuring some extraordinarily talented artists for World Card Making Day!  5 posts throughout the day – a super-abundance of inspiration – don’t miss it!

Composition Books the Maui Stamper Way

I love to write, and I’m addicted to notebooks of all sorts…but I prefer it when they’re interesting (I was going to say “pretty” but that sounds like an 8 year old girl.)

Last weekend I made a very quick trip to Portland, Oregon for some training with Weight Watchers.  I was meeting three other Hawaii WW staff there, and I wanted to bring them a little “something”.  What could be better than some “interesting” composition books?

Katie's composition book

This one was for Katie – and of course, there had to be a coordinating pen.

Shawndra's composition book

I love this page of Designer Series Paper, but you can see that Shawndra’s scallops got a little mashed in my suitcase.  They’ll be fine with a smidgen of Tombo.

Kim's composition book

Blue and green for Kim – my favorite color combination!

Anne's composition book

Well, yes – yes, I did make one for myself!

These all use the Pocketful of Posies Designer Series paper.  I have loads of gorgeous papers right now because DSP is  Buy 3 get one Free!   You can get some too, but just through August 31 (I just did the knuckle trick to be sure that was right!)

An Abundance of Designer Series Paper

I have always been in love with paper…the texture, the colors, the designs…and finding Stampin’ Up! was a dream come true.  Today Stampin’ Up! has sweetened the deal with a Buy 3, Get One Free deal on DSP:

Buy 3 - Get 1 Free!

  • Download the Flyer for all the details
  • There is no limit to the number of free Designer Series Paper packages you can earn
  • Speciality DSP and Hostess DSP are not part of this promotion
  • DSP ordered as part of your Hostess Free Dollars does not qualify for the promotion.
  • Offer ends August 31, 2011 at 11:50 pm MST.  Do the math for your time zone!  Don’t miss out!!

I am READY for this promotion, because I just did a huge clean-up-day in my studio (the room formerly known as Sara’s bedroom) and I have room for pretty new papers.  In fact, I just placed a big ol’ order myself and can’t wait to get my hands on some new Designer Series Paper.

Check out all the beautiful papers avaliable with this promotion and shop now in my online store. Click Here!

Still workin’ through the Stash

Here’s the deal:  I’m in the process of moving all my craft supplies into my oldest daughter’s FORMER bedroom.  When she left for University 4 1/2 years ago, I put up a 6 foot folding table in her room.  (Her younger sister promptly took a photo and sent it to her, the rat.)  When she would come home for breaks, I would clear out the debris and we would attempt to peacefully co-exist in that space.  Once she graduated, she moved home for 8 months, and I had to move out.  Everything went into the laundry room, which is a lovely laundry room but wasn’t quite designed for paper, stamps, ink, a Big Shot, ribbon, hardware…you get the picture.  Now that she’s moved to Australia for the time being (SIGH) I’m reclaiming that room.  Silver linings and all that jazz.

Where is all this going?  As part of moving I’m going through lots of crafting supplies.  Some are staying, some are going, and some, well, I just haven’t decided yet.  But I keep coming across retired products – stamps, papers, ribbons, In Color stuff – and remembering how much I loved those things when they were current.  Some of them I still love a whole lot.  Like this goofy owl:

Love Owl Ways

  • Love Owl Ways stamp set (retired) and Wood grain background stamp
  • Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Naturals White card stock; Thoroughly Modern DSP
  • Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad; Soft Suede, Cameo Coral and Bermuda Bay ink refills
  • Soft Suede and Cameo Coral Stampin’ Write markers; white gel pen
  • Aquapainter, Ticket Corner punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Soft Suede polka dot ribbon

You can’t see it in the photo but there’s a little Champagne Mist shimmer in the owl’s wings and chest because there was already shimmer paint in the lid of the stamp pad when I went to watercolor with my aquapainter.  I usually just put a drop from the re-inker into the lid of the pad when I watercolor, because if I don’t use it all or if I change my mind and need more, it’s there next time I need it.

If owls are your thing, then I’m sorry to torment you with retired stamps.  There’s hope, though – I’ve seen the Stampin’ Up!  Summer Mini catalog, and it may or may not feature a new owl stamp set.  How’s that for sneaky??
