Catching my breath

I’m home, and as much as I loved Every Last Minute of convention, I am very glad to be home.  I was so seriously sleep deprived in Salt Lake!  Between the 4 hour time difference, our breakneck pace every day, and my inability to quiet the chaos in my head at bedtime I just didn’t get enough sleep.  Sunday night I dropped gratefully into bed just after 10pm and slept blissfully through until 7am Monday.

But I would do it again in a heartbeat.

It’s the relationships.  Yes, we saw loads of new products, fabulous displays, and great project ideas.  Yes, the training was fantastic – I’m always so impressed at how Stampin’ Up! creates classes that provide insight to such a broad spectrum of demonstrators, from those just beginning to those who have been running a full-time business for years.

It’s the people that make Convention so spectacular.  I loved meeting people face to face that I’d only corresponded with by email, connecting (after about 47 text messages across the Opening Party) with friends I’d made through blogging, running into friends from past conventions and sharing the experience with the Maui Girls that travelled together to Salt Lake.  (Blue Frosting:  Need I say more?)  Stampin’ Up! is an exceptional company with a focus on personal values as well as quality in product, and when you assemble a group of people who are associated with Stampin’ Up! you have an exceptional group.

Would you like to see just a few photos from the Product Garden?

Stampin' Up! Garden Chairs

This was one of my favorite vignettes.  Stampin’ Up! does a fabulous job of showcasing product, and our theme this year was Grow so the displays had a garden theme.  I love the butterflies (Decor Elements, of course) on the chairs.

Stampin' Up! Flirtatious Product Garden

The Flirtatious product display was so beautiful and feminine.  Take a close look at those big fanned flowers, because they were made with a FANTASTIC new product being introduced in the Holiday Mini catalog on September 1.  Get ready to sell your old scoring tool, because Simply Scored is the Rolls Royce of tools and it is priced at only $29.95.  We made flowers like this and it was a snap!

Stampin' Up! Berry Blossoms Product Garden

It’s hard to take in all of the detail here, but my favorite is the flower pots covered with Designer Series Paper.  The creative team at Stampin’ Up! blew our socks off!

One final photo…a very proud moment for me.  I walked across the stage with a group of women who have inspired and mentored me this past year.  We were all recognized for our achievements in sharing the business opportunity with others, and it was one of my most memorable events of convention:Stampin' Up! Recognition March for Recruiting

Would you like to join me at convention next year?  I’d love to tell you more.  Anyone can be a Maui Stamper, and right now there’s a fabulous $99 opportunity available through Stampin’ Up!  Email me, leave a comment, or shine the secret symbol up in the sky and I’ll get in my Stampermobile and be there in a flash!

Postscript Salt Lake City

Time for bed here in Salt Lake, though my body insists it is much too early.  Such a full, fabulous day, beginning with Memento Mall (Stampin’ Up! shopping at the highest level) and ending with a fun, silly party and a photo with a half a zillion of my new best friends.

Convention 2011 - Robbie, Cheryl and Kellie

OK, the truth is, it ended with a glass of Pinot Noir with Robbie and Cheryl in the lounge at our hotel.

There’s nothing like a Stampin’ Up! convention.  Heaps of energetic, friendly, generous people (primarily women) meeting one another, sharing ideas, laughing and telling stories and connecting over bits of paper.  You can’t believe it unless you see it, and I highly recommend it if you’ve never tried it.  (PS you can become a demonstrator for only $99 this month – go to my Online Store and click “Join Now” for more information).

Flirtatious display in the Demonstrator Resource Center

Kellie, Peggy, Robbie, Cheryl and I shopped at Memento Mall, ooohed and aaahed fabulous displays in the Demonstrator Resource Center, and toured the offices and distribution center (when I said we had to leave for our Riverton Tour Kellie said she felt like a kid on Christmas morning having to leave her toys behind to go to Grandma’s house). Robbie won a prize patrol and came home with new stamps from the opening party, and we’re all trying to fall asleep before 1am so we can get up bright and early for opening session tomorrow.

It’s Sale-a-bration!!

Everybody’s favorite Stampin’ Sale!

Sale-a-bration 2011

January 25 through March 31

Click HERE to browse the Sale-a-bration Mini Catalog

A first look at Sale-a-bration

Lisa’s on the Mainland (crazy girl – it’s snowing there!) and she let me play with some of her Sale-a-bration sets:

Sale-a-bration Sweet Summer

  • Sweet Summer and So Happy for You stamp sets (SAB)
  • Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist, Regal Rose and Whisper White card stock
  • Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist and Regal Rose Classic ink pads
  • Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write marker; Aquapainter
  • Scallop Trim border punch
  • Paper piercing tool and Mat
  • Brights Designer Buttons; Linen Thread (yay!)

First, let me say that I have promised myself never-never-ever to run out of Linen Thread again!

Now, I have to confess that when I saw Sweet Summer I thought it was cute but I didn’t think I’d be all wonky-crazy about it.  Think again!  I love these flowers, and not to be big-headed or anything but I think they love me too.  That long “wheel-y” looking panel was just randomly stamped, but I think it’s very effective.  And yes, I may be  starting to sound like Jan Tink and “Yes I Love Myself (YILM)”, except that I will never be so audacious as to compare myself to Jan Tink.

Sale-a-bration starts January 25th and my calendar is filling up.  Do you have your event scheduled yet?

A card so nice, I made it twice

If this layout looks familiar, you’re very observant:

Filled with Love

  • Filled with Love stamp set
  • Whisper White, Real Red and Pretty in Pink card stock
  • Real Red and Pretty in Pink Designer Series Papers (from Filled with Love promotion bundle)
  • Real Red Classic ink pad and Whisper White craft ink pad
  • White embossing powder and heat tool
  • 5/8 inch White Satin ribbon; Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Full Heart and Heart to Heart punches

I used the same layout for the LOVE card and today’s card…matter of fact, the LOVE card started out with these panels.  It took me a while to figure out that the reason I didn’t like how the card was progressing was that the color balance was off, and once I swapped out the colors I was much happier.  I still needed to find something to do with those two panels that were matted and ready to go, and this is the result.

I need some of you “Bow Geniuses” to tell me what I’m doing wrong, because I can’t seem to make these big bows work.  And please don’t judge the quality of  Stampin’ Up! white embossing powder by this sample – I think the humidity from the enormous storm we had last week has spelled doom for my jar.

Did you know that you can purchase JUST the Real Red and Pretty in Pink Designer Series papers during the Filled with Love promotion?  You’ll get 12 pages, 6 of each color, and 2 sets of designs for each color for $9.95  (#124156).  If you’re a local customer, I’m putting in an order on Sunday and will be happy to include the paper or the bundle for you – please give me a call.  Promotion ends January 24th so skeedaddle!

Hearts and Flowers

I’m a little late to the party over the Filled with Love promotion.  With everything that’s been going on, it took a little extra time for me to transition from The Holidays to oh, say, Valentines Day.  Now that it’s a month away,  hearts and flowers have made it to front and center:

Filled with Love

  • Filled with Love stamp set
  • Whisper White, Real Red, and Brushed Silver card stock
  • Designer Series Papers in Real Red
  • Basic Grey and Real Red Classic ink pads
  • Filled with Love Promotion Bundle with Clear Stamps (#124381)
  • Real Red 1/8 inch taffeta ribbon; Grid Paper
  • Bitty Heart, 3/4 inch circle, and scallop border punches
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals; Love Impressions rub ons

Don’t know what my problem was, but I’m glad I’m over it!  I LOVE this group of products for Valentines’ Day!  Love the images, love the papers, love the rub ons…guess you could just say I’m really feelin’ the LOVE!

These little heart-flowers were easy to line up with clear stamps.  I did it first on my grid paper – used the grid lines to space the images evening (3 lines between each one) and make them stand up straight on the panel.  The big polka dot scallops underneath are just circles punched and lined up on the grid paper.  I put a line of SNAIL across the bottom of the panel and placed it right on top of that row of circles.

Love that Grid Paper too!  Check the button on the right panel to get the 4-1-1 on the Filled with Love promotion, but do it by January 24th or it will be gone.

Red and…pink??

Stampin’ Up! is always a couple of steps ahead of me…we have a new promotion beginning today to get ready for Valentines’ Day.  I’ve just started playing Christmas music in my house, so you can imagine I’m not quite ready for pink and red.

Filled with Love promotion

The Occasions Mini catalog starts January 4, but the beautiful new Love Impressions Specialty Designer Series paper is available now in this special offer.  You’ll get 12 gorgeous love-themed sheets of paper and the charming Filled with Love stamp set – and your bonus is free Bitty Buttons.  These little clear gems are the perfect finishing touch and if you’ve never used them, you’re in for a treat!

Give me a call, or stop by my Online Store to place your order.
